I had a busy day...
Oil and filter change
Replaced a busted horn
Replaced worn swaybar bushes. Spent close to 90min on it, then had lunch and worked out how to get the bush in properly 10min later was done. Lets hope this sorts the creaking noises.
Installed new brake rotors and pads up front.
Pad sensor had set the light on dash, but only because the sensor wire came out of the pad and got worn on the disk.
Pads had heaps to go, has been 6 years and at least 120,000km
I'm glad I pulled them out as I found the pads had come off the backing !
EBC green stuff - Not really worth the extra coin.
MK4 GTI - Sold
MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.
Got this little beauty in the post today. New speakers to be fitted front and rear can any one suggest good set of speakers that will fit stock without any modifications to doors?
Pretty much all aftermarket speakers are going to need a spacer as they don't have the plastic shroud.
If you don't want to go LOUD, my stock speakers sounded pretty good handling up to about 50W from my hertz hdp4.

I had exactly the same issue with my 306GTi pug quite a few yrs ago. Ended up getting replacement pads after i pointed out "occasional track use" on their website. But had to fight for it. Cracks and peeling off the backing plate. Never again.
picked up another set of 312mm brakes.
I sold the first lot after realising they killed my proposal for the BBS RS, but now the RS are gone, im in the clear.
came from a TT, so will be interesting to see if the different ball joints and tie rod connection complement the suspension and tubular control arms or not.
After many years of not having my head unit fit 100% I worked out the issue.
I always knew it was getting jammed on something soft, but couldnt work it out...
found there is wires that come out of the back of the headunit directly in line with the rear support for the radio cage.
so hopefully can get in there and do some trimming without having the support fail.

I did mine on the weekend, soldered in the yellow and red wires, and antenna boostet after months of bad reception and memory loss. Pushed all the wires to each side slid it in and now it stays there as before if i took off hard it would fall out :/ also the single din compartment on top needed trimming to fit too much happier now.
Loving the wheel eri! Gonna get my car all shiny on the weekend
go easy on that ice tea mate, i've heard it can strip the paint....
god i'm bored, can you tell? sorry, i'll get my coat...
ps let me know how it goes, looks like a nice piece of kit. i'm keen to get in to the detailing thing myself. all the best with it as i don't think its as easy as it looks
