So i have decided to finally make a build thread on this forum after already starting one on other sites because i feel i will get better support and advice here.
It all started when i was about to turn 18 and my parents offered $3k for a first car. This led me searching high and low for a car with low km's yet in my price range. Many cars popped up, old BMW's, Subaru's and of course Vw's.
My mind was set though on this Golf i came across on Carsales. It was a GL model with a 2.0L and Red with only 116k km's on it. I went to go see it on a rainy day (which wasn't the best idea as later proven) made my mind up and bought it.
Here it is the day i bought it.

Looked alright in the wet, yet when i got it back home, imperfections appeared. Nothing major, just a spot of rust on the rear, some faded clear coat and a few dents and scratches.
Next thing to do was typical p-plater style, plasti dip emblems and wheels and black out taillights...

The joy of driving this was then cut down as i got caught speeding and was suspended for 3 months... During this time (2 months) i have since cleaned it weekly, drained and refilled the oil and fitted a new oil filter, buffed and polished it and have just ordered a set of JOM Coilovers which should arrive in the next week or so.
I will post more updates as soon as the coilovers arrive and will document the full installation.
