Any pics?

What are people doing around the air vent joints when the foam has gone?
Just leave it with a small gap here and there? or is there a quick fix?

?? There shouldn't be any gaps.
Or maybe I'm thinking of the wrong area of the vents ?
If it's fitted properly, the fan/air con should blow really strong, should have no difference from the bora.
Otherwise maybe try sikaflex?

And make sure where ever it's being used, that it's still possible to pull apart stuff, if the dash was to ever come out for what ever reason

I didn't, but make up a gasket out of something water proof, maybe some sort of hosing?

Seems to seal up ok... good enough for me anyway.

Had enough of wiring and I think other then a air bag light I don't need any more for roady.
Threw a bit more trim back in, gave it a quick wipe down with some apc and a quick vac, will get a better job when I'm done.

Any one with a Vento in aus meant to know what actually goes here?
And do all Aussie ventos have the dimple/foam lining?

Also had a quick play around with the passenger 1/4 panel as it's still not sitting right, being it came off the golf I think it might have been bent to suit other damaged caused by an accident it had previously had. Getting better though.

Also pulled the front and rear badge as the front was pretty crusty and had no chrome left. Will probably just do them black once I figure out how to separate the rear badge from its backing plate

This arrived, not 100% sold on the carbon in my cars theme. But much better then the other two wheels I have currently.

Also picked up a heater seat dummy switch delete. Will allow me to install a single guage, hopefully for boost later on, but for now I'll be getting a clock to match my new cluster. Much thanks for Greg at carformance!

Unfortunately it's to suit a LHD car being from 42DD, so a bit of tweaking will see it in the RHD dash soon.

Swapped post cat exhaust to the one from thestus old Vento, while it had a few pin holes in the final pipe section it was a much easier repair then mine. Just got to reconnect at the cat and refit guards.

Hopefully dad is bringing another part to the rain tray. half of mine had a seal and the other half was missing a seal, so getting two without and just running some generic rubber between for roady, have other plans for the wipers later on.

Off to buy some bulbs for the 3rd brake light over the weekend, it's getting closer!

Its a genuine wheel, yet to confirm what or where its from. Yes to take factory bag.
I imported it, would like to keep where I got it from under wraps as im still keeping my eye out for a different wheel from the same place.

So vento has been kicked from the garage for stus broken beetle and my bora, with a flat (and now non existent) battery its been too hard to do work on where its parked.

Stu tidied up the thread on the mkV R32 sump plug hole, so hopefully along with a new gasket and the r32 oil pickup will go on shortly to solve the last oil leak and get a oil change in since head rebuild.

Still unsure what the deal with the clutch is. is definitely a bent pedal or bent master cylinder.
while doing more research I noticed there is different types of pedal. mine is a flat metal plate, but a lot of photos and diagrams also show a thick mesh (I'm guessing made of plastic) does anyone know what the deal is there?

I really dont want to go buy one or the other and find its not it...

Fixed up the indicator plug that had a dead pin, new parker globe in one headlight, found the headlight reflector was damaged in the same light. Sigh....
Lucky for me, a black Vento got crashed just down the road from me. Raided it today of a new drivers headlight (dunno how it survived as it was a pretty serious front ender) also nabbed a slightly better condition rear bumper, another boot (mine had the tiniest dint), black coolant bottle cap, and a few other things. Was in pretty good condition, shame to see Two ventos dead within 10mins of my house within a week of each other.
Owner got a lesson on vws, and I think she will be back in one as she was pretty happy how it held up. Happy to see some of it live on
