Actually drove it yesterday!
First time in a month probably. Had to top it up with water, oil and electricity before hand, but all good.

Have put in some work on the mk2 last night and today.
Getting ready for new headlights.
Before with old bonnet.
New bonnet, straightening up and filling some bumps.
New bonnet after filler/sanding back and primer. All ready for undercoat.
Excuse the crappy lighting- a possum or something knocked down our big fluorescent light.sigpic07 GTI

You seriously have to upgrade to MK3 2 litre brakes (disks and calipers). So much better than the standard MK2 front disks.
Did you do the panelbeating?1978 MK1 2.0 16v http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/foru...-46488-70.html

Mk3 sounds like an easy
Yeah, had to do a bit of patching up.
Still working on the panel damage, trying to massage out where the kangaroo head butted the car. Basically right where the antennae used to be.sigpic07 GTI

I'm running just the bigger MK3 brakes and it stops as well as a modern car. Not sure that I need any further upgrades.1978 MK1 2.0 16v http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/foru...-46488-70.html
