Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Took the car away on hoilday and it went great! So much more power than the old 8v and really good on gas. It doesn't have a bit of road noise so I might look into some sound deadening for the interior.

Today I got a set of exhaust tips of a mk3 gti fitted to the new exhaust.

(so much holiday grim on the bumper!!)

Not too sure how I feel about them now, think they look a bit big.... I'll give them a bit but I think they will be coming off.

    Lucky they were free!!
    whatcha think?

Yeah thats what I am hoping! Rear end is now on the cards for a tidy up. I picked up a factory Gli spoiler and nice boot which will get painted hopefully next week as well as pulling off the tow bar.

Also found some NOS factory 16v and jetta badges for the rear.

Hopefully is will be more like this

          Love that jetta!!

Yeah I will be. Following some one ebay at the moment.

I won a mint condition 16v glove box badge. But they taped it down with some nasty tape and pulled half the clear film off!!
Doesn't look too bad in the photo but its half matt half gloss now And I paid a bit for it! s**t heads.
They also randomly put in a mk3 16v badge? Not sure why but it may work on the skinny door trims.

Also picked a mint condition euro plate tub of a friend. Car is going in tho get the GLi spoiler and boot painted in a few days.

It worked very well on MK2 Jettas.

                        • Did some work on the RS's today! Picked them up from getting the lips cleaned up and then started splitting them. Heaps easier than I thought! Well so far... Split four of them and have two to go. Since I am robbing the bigger lips off a mate and giving him back the smaller lips, barrel etc. Sweet deal huh!

Front is 16x8 and rear is 8.5

                          I did have a good helper !
