I went and had a look at another mk2 tonight, It's an 89 8v GTi. I don't need it at all but bloody love it. Needs a bit of rust work and a respay but it is pretty tidy.

Yeah, it needs some rust work and not too show how much rust is unseen yet... Window line is a bit toast as well as battery tray and rear guards. I will give him an offer and see where it goes from there. Need to use my head and not get too excited haha!Comment

why are you even having second thoughts about getting another mk2...
it's a small bumper 2dr with sunroof!!
what do mean??
the sill 'trim' at the bottom of the door should be a vinyl sticker. over time they get brittle and fragile, but you can buy them new from a mob in the UK.
it also looks like someone has stuck on a red stripe above the door trim, rather than the metal backed one (but they're near impossible to find).
other than that looks pretty normal.Comment

Oh ok, I didn't notice it when I took the photo, only when I got home. I thought they were all just painted sills? Hence thinking something was pretty wrong if it looks a bit nasty!
Still haven't head back about it yet though. Meh, it means I can spend more on the Jetta

Yeah he declined my offer and sold it to someone else. Oh well, more time and money to spend on the jetta!
Found some front mk3 gti recaros for the car. Starting to get some quotes on getting them re trimmed in the factory grey leather.
Currently these are what are in the car
Hopefully like this, but grey leather and hooped headrests
Oh that recaro logo is going to look good in the middle too

Thanks man! Got a wheel alignment yesterday, man it feels good! It was pretty off after ****ing around with the new brakes and stuff.
Got my half height caps back from the polishers today. Shinny!
I still need to give the logo caps a once over and buff them up but they are pretty good for now.Comment
