Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

PLEASE...pit those lovely CLI alloys back on ASAP.I picked up some 4x100 15" steels off a mate today. A lot cheaper than buying new G60 winter wheels. Also came with good tyres though I am wanting to run a lower profile once they get widened.
Or he could make the VW hubcaps work/fit on the rim whilst waiting for widening.
Or leave it like it is aswell.MK2 - *Insert list of dealer purchased extra's/standard features here*

They will be powder coated the same silver as the centre caps soon, so they should match up fine and hopefully look OEMish

Ah, still can't post a WTB add so here goes.
Looking for a single headlight mk2 golf grill to put on my Jetta.
The fk ones seem to be pretty nice. Does anyone have one they want to part with?
I am located in Auckland New Zealand so it would need to be posted.
Thanks!

Ordered a set of 195/45/15 Toyo T1r's today which should be here in December. I don't mind the wait as I got them for a good price and it gives me time to sort other stuff for the car. I have read good reviews about them and they stretch a lot nicer than the others.
Also booked the car in to get the rust taken out from around the windshield on Monday.
I'm looking forward to a rust free car!
Also finally got in touch with the guy who sold me the polo coilovers. Now I can get my money back and order the correct ones!
Things are slowly moving forward

I'm getting pretty excited about it all!
Need to figure out the offsets for the steelies but the fronts will be 15x8 and the rears 15x8.5.
Thinking of around et15 up front and maybe somewhere around et8-12 in the rear. Need to have a measure up soon.
Still hunting for mk2 big bumper side skirts if anyone has some!?

Anton! How are you mate? Nick mentioned you are over in Australia now. Your MK1 looks awesome!
I got the car back from getting the rust fixed this week. Super happy with the result. They did an amazing job in two days and a price a few hundred cheaper than other places.
Rust free car! Now I want to fix up the rest of the small dents on it.
I also picked up some G60 centre caps for the steel wheels. They sit alot nicer than the other caps I got.
Finally managed to get my money back from the coil-over screw up today which I am very thank full for. Time to order some correct ones!
Progress
