Well, I have to say that I am seriously impressed !!! In Europe people started throwing these great cars away and they are getting extremely rare and there actually is someone in Japan taking good care of them !!! Thank's for posting those photos, mate !! Hope things are all well in Japan !

Thankyou! Yeah, all the blokes at the workshop are serious Mk2 nuts. I was very overwhelmed when we went to the second yard ( I had only seen the ones at the shop yard) ...seeing all those mk2s in one place was a sight to see! I can guarantee none of these cars will be crushed as long as they are looked over by theese blokes!!!
Everything is fine here quakes have calmed down for now!
Cheers peoples! I'm hoping to go and see the other cars next week.
And possibly make an offer on the black 88 2 door GTI with sunroof.
Needs tonnes of work, but I have possibly found a place to store it here. Fingers crossed!
Not shure I would want a Chinese built MK2!!!!!
But yeah, same here, I would say I see at least 3 a day on the road. And that just in Asaka-shi!!
By far the most popular Golf here is mk3 wagon and mk5 GTI.
The classifieds in my area have 28 mk2 GTIs up for sale.
