Theres one out in auburn but i dont know if thats close to u or not. Im curious to know that these cars dont need compliancing or what not? Just go for a blue slip?? If so why havent more ppl done this!!!!
They do need compliancing, unless it's a personal import (Owned and used for 12 months) as opposed to a general import (What both Myself and Dangerdan have done).
I'm trying to work out how to get mine to Liverpool for the Engineer to scrutinise as I have no plates on it and I don't trust the unlicenced vehicle ruling on the RTA website!!!
Here at Beachwheels Automotive, we have 25 years knowledge providing a vast range of Automotive Services from the family car or 4wd to trucks and buses.
they have a weighbridge and located in Harbord/Freshwater area.
well im located in bankstown, and that last one ozgti, is in warringah, which is northshore, and the car will most likely be shipped to port kembla, south coast.
also, is it a big job to get the child restraints and get them attached, also, it seems you dont need the third brake light as it is pre 89, but ill get one just for good measure.
at what point can i go for the blueslip, is it as soon as the child restraint is in or is it rego'd first. How long does it take to be blueslipped and complianced?

Have you got the child restraints in, was it hard?
Just got home on my lunch break to find a government letter in the mail box. And yes its the VIA.
Also got the rego details, which have the details of the previous owner, in the bit that it states new owner, do i fill that in?
I will sort out shipping with all the details tonight and should be on its way by the 11th.
Thanks matt, your folks have been fantastic. Also, can i borrow this trade plate or something for when it arrives, ill get it rego'd myself as 3g is too much.

I know you can get eylet plates that go under seat belts (My jeep had them), maybe you can use those at the seat belt anchor points??? I need to look into it, the only problem I see is that they won't be in the middle of the seats.
Does anyone know how far you can drive on trade plates? Can you drive an imported vehicle on them?
I can drive anything on my Trade Plate as long as it is registarable and is on Camden GTI Business.
In this case, to pick up a car that we imported to take it to a blue slip station, is more than allowable.
I also have a complete rear bar with the child seat anchor points on it, from an Aussie Car which you should bolt in before trying for a blue slip.
I reckon if you put the safety bar in and the rear 3rd brake light, then just say nothing at the inspection, it could very well pass with no talk of intrusion bars and other such nonsense.

well as far as im aware i dont need the third brake light as it is pre 1989
Yes, but they are soooo much cooler having a 3rd brake light! I'm looking at one which is the long wide LED strip and putting that across the top of the hatch, under the spoiler.
