i was also wondering what goes on the handbrake that connects to the centre console? or anything that connects to the centre console?
But no really, I like to look distinguished when I step out of the car. People are like, "wonder what he does for living."

I had fixed half the broken crap but that just meant it was still halfway inoperable

ive put that plastic thing under the carpet, im just wondering what piece of trim it is that goes ontop of the plastic cover, surely the handbrake has a gaitor

something fairly important happened today, got the gearlinkages back on, clutch cable connected. ive always thought that people were exaggerating when they said the clutch was heavy, sadly, they werent. brake servo reconnected to the pedal and the left driveshaft is in! right is going in tomorrow aswell as the headers and then its just the front end of the engine to put everything back on. done soon hopefully!

You'll get used to it. Just eat lots of Weetbix every morning.

There should be a rubber/plastic cover for the handbrake to make it look pretty.

and then ofcourse when doign anything fun something has to ruin it. this time it was the downpipe of the headers didnt fit on the rest of the exhaust, so lots of cutting and welding needs to be done

trying to think of things to paint on the rocker cover and fan belt cover, getting bored of the red

Give Nick out at Bungendore a call - 0412 345 126. He's got lots of MK1's and parts on his property. He's also got some really nice wheels for 4 stud VW's.

Is the old pipe much smaller in diameter than the extractors?

                        surpisingly, no.

if you dont do anything to the old pipes diameter its a very flush fit and using muffler putty as a grease it slides on with ease.

just wondering if theres any trim piece that connects to the centre console, theres a screw hole and a plastic extension piece thing that looks like it should connect to something

well the coils in, i also almost have all of my seatbelts in. its getting done slowly.

put the grill on, the side inserts werent fitting properly so i cut a hole and bobs your uncle. i now like to think i have the engineering genius of peter jones.

That hole at the back of the centre console is only for a screw to screw it to the floor. There aren't any other bits that go with it.

ahhh ok, i wonder how hard it is to make something to go there. the floor does look really empty.

volksparts is the coolest place i have ever been, got all the bits i needed so i should have the car running soon
