Those OMP braces are a good bit of kit! I've got them in the 2door!

Yeah they seem to be pretty decent! how did you go about getting the rear one in? i got the other two in no dramas but the rear one looks like it would be a pain so i flagged it haha!

      Pics:

      Front strut brace in:

comparison of old and new lower brace:

I think the dodgy rear engine mount is the cause of the bending of the old one, will be fixed in the next couple of weeks though!

and i got my new tyres the other day - federal 595 evos so the car is a grip monster now! fitted them up to the car today - had to dial in a fair amount of camber on the front, and raise the car up all round but i'm stoked that it all works with no scrubbing!!

just waiting on my interior still from lws, and need to buy a few more little bits here and there such as globes and whatnot so i can take it out to the Gold Coast VW day at the start of May.

Will be ordering my new front brakes this week too!

Cheers guys! Shades are functional too - the seat stands out like dogs balls otherwise!

As for future plans - it depends on money primarily, there are a heap of things i'd love to do but money is the main issue (uni sucks). I've got the outside looking how i want it to now, but still have the interior and handling to go.

Next few weeks it will be new fibreglass interior (all paid for just waiting), a new exhaust, and brand new vr6 calipers, 280mm discs and a new mk3 brake master cylinder as the one i got is leaking..

Then i have a mate who has a set of hankook semi's that i can mount up to the gottis and use as a track wheel set up (only 15s will clear the rotors)

I also want to get the cooling system sorted - just a alloy rad w/ samco hoses most likely - but it's fine for now

After all of that it will be a street registered hillclimb car - I hope to enter into the Tewantin hillclimb at the end of the year - a good mate of mine has been building a ke70 for the past few years so it would be cool to race against him if he gets it done.

This will continue until I either: a) get sent over pits (defects are easy enough to clear but i don't think i'd be able to make it over pits)
or b) destroy motor and/or box

Then it will be a full strip down to repair any rust and re paint, and put a new engine in. still undecided as to what i want to put in it - a newish 1.8T audi motor would be cool and i'd be interested to see if anyones done it before? i'm hoping that i can last long enough with the 8v so i can get money together to make something crazy

              YOU'RE A MAD MAN!
That's so good haha. How much clearance do you have on the inside in the rears?

Also, as far as that OMP brace goes haha, I wouldn't have a clue, it was on the car when I bought it
              Sorry I can't help mate!

Car is looking absolutely tits! Love it!

Haha not much clearance.. About a finger between coil and wheel. There was less clearance on the fronts but spacers and a little less camber on the fronts fixed that!

Ahh its all g man ill suss it out when I'm not working on the car hungover hahaha

Cheers dude its finally looking how I want it to

Been super busy lately but not on my car

Got a wheel alignment the other day - steers mint now!

Then it was a delivery vehicle, 100km round trip to pick up some stuff for my mates car, loves it though!

Hopefully will get rear strut brace in this weekend and a new exhaust and brakes soon.. depending on funds!
