Its not as bad at all, however it has shifted the rear a bit forward, which means its all un-even. Also a very big hastle for me to get everything prep'd, sanded, knocked out, repainted, also going to the cop shop, looking for his address, calling insurance, etc. At the end of the day it could have been avoided, and should have. He could have also been a more understanding

Regardless, i'll use this to my full advantage. Ill lip the guards and roll them, as well as perhaps installing the rear swallowtail.

Btw Dan, i got your inbox, ill check tmoro to see what i have mate

          • Chucked on the exhaust today with the help of my mate. Gotta admit, exhaust looked a heap better than expected, however sounds like a boat. Its even louder now than what it was before, so the only thing im left to do is, a) chuck on a catylic converter to stop the horrible petrol smell i get through the whole car and exhaust -.- and. b) put in a muffler in the centre or something, to minimize noise. Ill show pics of exhaust tmoro

            • bro don't put a cat on a car that doesn't need one. My exhaust cost me ~$200 with a res and a muffler so its not to loud and sounds good.
If it smells like petrol its probably because its over fueling or leaking a cat will just make it slowzer. Mine over fuels like a mad kent but i cant smell the petrol.

Hahaha bro, you've got no idea how loud this thing is. It litterally sounds like a boat, or in simple term, a car with no muffler at all, just a straight pipe. Its bubbly at idle and sounds horrid. It gets alot better at high rev though.

Im thinking of just adding a small middle muffler just to cancel out a bit of the noise.. I think its the fact that i have 2.25" exhaust all the way that its so darn loud.

                    • i had a sports rear muffler and a 1.75" through with a 2" tip, its sounded good but loud enough to catch the attention of the popo so i got a res put in the middle. 2.25" is too big for such a small motor and a cat will only make it even slower.

If you wana make it sound better you have to change the size.

Yeah i noticed the exhaust is a little big. So would a 2" one be good then? Thing is i got a $240 fine for looking at the time on my phone, and lost 3 DP so i cant afford much now. Im guttered ... my fault i guess.

Well saying i keep my 2.25", what can i do to make it quieter or give it more compression. When you put your hand behind my exhaust, you can feel heaps of pressure shooting out freely, so i'd say my exhuast has no compression at all, which is a good thing right?

                        • i got a 2" system on Green, and its loud when you stomp it, but rather quiet if you baby it...
New golf has Extractors and what i think is a 1.5" system with one muffler, and its quiet.. little raspy when you rev it.

Since when is it illegal to look at the time on your phone? I would have contested that.
