Finally Removed tyres, put car up on stands, Retracted Soft top, Removed both front seats and gave a general tidy up to the interior so I know what I have to work with and want to change. Also Degreased the engine bay and Finally Put a battery in so I could retract the convertible. Can't wait...... I think I blew a fuse somewhere but thats tomorrows job, tracking down that blown fuse.... hmmmm

 The webers are fixed!! YAY!!
Huge props to the guys at Dyno Tune Mitchell.

With a test run scheduled for the 20th I have a list of stuff to check (and in some cases - build from scratch) before taking to the dirt again. Unfortunately the 2 and a half years of inaction have left some components looking a bit rusty and sad.
 So....
Strip and de-rust front brakes and bearing housing
 Paint front callipers
Strip Nav side tie-rod arm and check for 'play'
De-rust rear brakes and trailing arms
Swear and fix leaking brake line (Flex hose junction with trailing arm hard-line)
 Flush and bleed brakes
 Finally fit rear "Spats"
 Flush radiator
Swap speedo for one in Km/h instead of miles/h
Swap dead and dying dashboard lamps for LEDs (red ones make the car go faster)

The problem with a "to-do" list is that you keep finding stuff to-do that wasn't on the list

Went to Canberra Steering and Suspension for a wheel-align on Tuesday. The good news was that as a registered driver in the ACT Rally Series (Novice Class) I get free treatment by Peter and the guys... the bad news was that I need new ball-joints and the control-arm front bushes have play in them.
Not too much of a hassle since I had a new set of control-arms and urethane bushes sitting on the shelf (although where the spare set of ball-joints got to is a mystery). I decided to strip the driver's side strut and check for play in the bearing... yep time to grovel to the other Peter (CVWC) for some new bearings.
Soooo after a bit of fumbling, some strong language and numerous cups of coffee we have new suspension goodness to spare.
Tomorrow I have to shim the rear stub-axels to fix excessive toe-out and maybe replace the nav's side strut-top bearing.... but that's enough for today.
