I started an automotive apprenticeship, and hoping to be able to move the car to the shop I work at.
I have the bumper caps and the rear view mirror which is all I need for rego check to be signed off and put her on the road.
And then I’ll be able to slowly spend time after work while other guys stay behind to fix a few extra and small things to get her to in even better shape.
I am very happy to announce, the old girl has gone in for a rego check today, and my gosh, SHE PASSED.
I was preparing for a few small things that need to be looked at and fixed ASAP before they sign off to pass her, but most of the things they mentioned in the report was done and she passed.
I can not wait to officially put rego on her and the plates to start driving her.
There are way to many people to thank in regards to helping making this happen, but those who have helped even in the slightest way with an idea on diagnoses etc or motivation to keep going, THANK YOU ALL.
The pictures below are from the inspector checking the beam pattern of the LED lights and adjusting them to where they need to be. I’ve never seen this type of tool used ever, so it was quite amazing seeing how they check it and how they make sure it is where it needs to be.
I now have a LOOONNNGGG list of things I would like to slowly pick away at when ever the funds and time is there.
I was in my car with my daughter and saw a similar looking Mk1 that I mentioned to her. I think the one I saw had a different coloured bonnet but a similar colour, at least in the dark.

It took a slight stand still. As I am fixing a small coolant hose issue, and I’m also replacing my heater core and fan to help with the cold weather in Canberra.
Hoping the next week and she’s being driven around. I’m also weighing up the option of full diesel rebuild, diesel engine upgrade or switch to petrol. [emoji87]
