V7 maps are now $200. It's a maps price lottery. I'm sure it will settle

The price discrepancy on these map updates is ridiculous.

Contacted my local dealer today and asked about the new map update. They said it was available and got I quoted $400

I also spoke to my local dealer today who said they had not yet been released nor had a price been set. He will ring me back with a price when they are available.

So... which dealer is the bull**** artist??

          I reckon, it's beyond ridiculous.

Unfortunately it's pretty much the last straw for me i've had such a bad experience with both our dealerships.
Makes me really consider if i want a new VW next time.

FWIW, I wouldn't discount VW ownership purely on the basis of poor dealership behaviour. I won't go into the dealership horrors when I bought our Skoda (delivered with expired registration was a highlight) but I figure as long as I enjoy the car, it doesn't really matter. My firmware and maps are upgraded to the latest versions (V7 maps excluded) and I, like most here, didn't go anywhere near a dealer to get it done.

I'm sure the V7 maps will surface at an affordable price sooner or later.

I've got VW here giving me a call when they recieve them. Still nothing.

Last i heard stock was in Sydney and they were expecting pricing from Germany on the 4th.

Spoke with VW Australia customer care yesterday and they informed me that V7 Maps were released in January and that I could order a DVD from the dealer. I subsequently contacted the dealer and they now have the DVD waiting for me to collect. $55

                        That is a decent price.
Keen to hear how the upgrade is if you go ahead with it.

Just got off the phone, VW here (Canberra) still haven't got stock but hes able to order it from today.
Got charged $5 more ($60.50) but at least its better than the $400 i was originally quoted.

                            Expected to arrive this Thurs
