As a skoda owner can I get my map update from any vw dealer? I just know that Brighton skoda will want to charge me $500+.

Are you sure on this? The VW parts guy I spoke to said that early versions of the VW maps were priced similarly but have since come down... I'd be surprised that Skoda would charge almost ten times the price for the same disc..

p.s. If VW charge $55, Skoda charge ≈$500 I wonder what Bentley charge? (the disc also having a Bentley part number)... Probably $2000 but the DVD would come in a leather-bound mahogany case with felt lining and gold embossing...

back when v5 came out, i was quoted $65 from lennock skoda in canberra.

If you want V7 maps go to your dealer and pay the $50-$60 they are asking.

RNS Navigation ver7

Hey guys,

Just like to make it known that there is a new version of nav out for the RNS units(510/810). If anyone would like one through myself I am able to get them for $48 + postage. Feel free to drop me a PM if your after one.

Also can get RNS 510 (highline?) units 1T0 057 680 D for $2360 + postage.

Both of these are genuine parts and made for the Australian market.

I just updated my rns-510 maps to v7...
New feature which i did not have before - speed limit for every street (very accurate), frankston bypass maps...

My question: what is difference between v6 and v7
And what is last firmware update for rns-510 and what feature bringing...

Yeah that's hella lame. I just installed a $350 android 8inch nav unit in my golf. Internet access, proper spoken instructions, fast interface etc it's great. Rns is getting old and tired now.

No it's Android. There are many variants with same internals. Tonghui Create AN21U. Search for pure Android 4.1 nav. It's dual core 1ghz. There is also a thread on here Android HU WIP or something.

Well I upgraded my RNS 510 to the V7 maps and ever since my battery keeps going flat ,could be just a coincidence but I noticed when I was up loading nothing came up saying it was installing it does show 8035 maps installed but it only stated in was checking the maps authorization .
