I'm guessing you'll even get a pretty picture of what your destination is supposed to look like.

Paying for an encrypted SD card is only temporary and like most things will probs be cracked after release. Even dealership updates aren't bullet proof.
All very well for buyers of cars equipped with the new stuff but what about all the older models still relying on DVD maps.
With the reliability of VW equipment we will be buying DVD amps for the next 20 years or so ROFL

Thank you. I tried my local dealer who said they didn't expect the maps for a month and had no part number so they couldn't order it for me. I rang Barloworld Bayside who said there would be stock in tomorrow, so I ordered from them. Price $55 plus postage. The part number is: 7L6919859G7. Should have mine by the end of the week.

        Edit.

Maps arrived today, 27Mar14. Great service by Barloworld Bayside. Total price including express post $64.90. Installation took about 20 minutes. Haven't used them yet due to heavy rain on Sunshine Coast.

I ordered the V7 maps from my dealer in Orange for $55 +gst. I have seen them advertised on internet sites for $200. I would suggest to just buy a copy from the dealer. It saves all the hassles and you are able to reload it if something goes wrong with the radio or you change the HDD.

The maps on the disc are dated 7/2013. I installed them today on the way home from the dealer.

                    • Maybe these will help https://jku.com.au/oem-maps.html

According to this site the VW ones fit the RNS 510 AND the Columbus versions so just pay the $55 at a VW dealer

Also, contained within the files on the disk itself is a list that includes a Bentley part number..

                        • has anyone loaded this onto their RNS510? Does it still have issues with zoom in out where street names are blank and you need to zoom in out to see?

Seems to work well re street names - doesn't give you heaps of them (but you'd not want the clutter anyway)... Think it's pretty similar to V6 in this regard..

Doesn't apply to you in SA but for people in NSW it does incorporate the new alphanumeric route numbering scheme (i.e. M1, M31, A36, B59 etc)...
