No, haven't yet as sandy wanted to hold off in ordering so they can fix more software issues

My issue is what if another firmware comes out and messes some units up, and not others like the past one just did, I don't want to be stranded a month with a dead unit, or have to pay (again) to have the system returned for what AS isn't capable of fixing

    • New one this morning.
Got in car an turned key to acc to let the unit boot up before starting the car.
      Radio comes on not muted.
Put it into reverse and the sound mutes as normal.
Reverse out the driveway put it into drive, radio stays muted
and have to reboot to get sound back.

Sandy why did audiosources not get the firmware out before their year and a half holiday? Any update on the obdii module?

Anyone else have the mirroring module? I would like to see if others have the same brutal low resolution image for their phone mirroring.

They did have one but said the recent switch to 32bit caused some new UI bugs and they want to fix those before giving me the firmware. This was a few days before they went on holidays of course... I expect to have something posted here within a few days of them returning.

robk5787 is going to receive a replacement unit with mirroring module as soon as AS gets back. He should be able to confirm the quality - AS assures me that it's not normal to have bad quality image on the unit from the mirroring module.

Rebooted several times and it kept happening.
Then it just stopped doing it and started working as it should.
Can you please let me know what version of firmware you are running?

Radio muting if you start the car after the unit boots is a known issue pending an MCU update to fix it.

The thing is like a ticking time bomb. I'm getting embarrassed to have the thing I my car knowing now much was spent on it.

Best of all, its a in dash navigation unit, and I can't even use the navigation system in it as you can only access it by the non workin buttons.

Your unit has always seemed to be the worst and you had issues quite early on - I suspect other than the faulty resistor it also happens to be a faulty unit to begin with. As I mentioned in the other group buy thread, I would suggest that you just get a replacement now but it's your choice if you want to wait till I feel the unit is ready for release software-wise.

          • Let's order up a replacement unit, as this thing is getting worse by the day.

Only issue is, I have a real CD in the unit that isn't being ejected. So I guess I require a button fix to get the CD out so I can then return this unit.

            • Sandy when do you think the new units will be ready? My unit seems to be quite stable but I'm not using the current firmware.

Do you think there is any chance the monsun.exe error is temperature related. As I had it pop up twice within a minute of jumping in the car on a 40+ degree day.

              • Hmmm that does bring up another concern, what will these units do in the hot temperatures, we already know what they did in the cold temps, wonder if they will overheat and shut down or do anything funky

                • Well being 40 + for multiple days and this only happened once. Basically it got the monsun error as it loaded SD.
Then I shut it down. And started it again.
And about 30 SECS into the song it did it again.
Hasn't happened since. Might be coincidental.

                  • It's been 35+ (and mostly 40+) degrees here since Christmas, and my car has been parked outside in the sun, and I haven't had any stability issues at all, so mine at least doesn't seem to be heat affected.

I'll still need to organise a replacement when I get back (first week of March) to Brisbane, though, for the BT issue.

Hey also, Sandy, how will the switch to 32bit effect the GPS software compatibility? As far as I'm aware most WinCE6 apps are 16bit? I imagine it will either run in emulation or the GPS module will run as 16bit while the head unit os will run in 32?

Either way 32bit should help with the sd read issues, since it should allow it to address memory quicker etc.

                    • That's why I said it could be coincidental. But definitely keen to replace the unit. Hopefully the BT static will be fixed as that's really stopping me from using my phone for music.

                      • Wouldn't the bt static be more a hardware issue vs software ? Or are you still on a pre-release unit there polski?

                        • Still on pre-release. I don't think any of us Aussies have got a 'final' unit.
