It's easy enough to get skins for iGo, and I include a few more popular user-created ones with the GPS SD. Which iGo are you talking about though? Maybe you're thinking of iGo 8. iGo Primo 2 may not be the fanciest default interface out there but it's functional and I definitely wouldn't call it ugly.

I don't know of any Golf or VW specific themes made but who knows I might give that a go if there is demand and I have time. Installing a skin is as easy as copying the skin's zip file into the skins directory and choosing it in iGo settings.

The one in the video is running the custom skin that I recommend to my customers. It's not exactly modern but I really wouldn't consider it ugly - and I design websites. Guess we'll agree to disagree Visual aspects has nothing to do with my recommendation though, the reason I recommend that skin is because it is more functional and user friendly (once you learn what each icon on the map screen does). Since you're a graphics designer though you could always edit a skin until you're happy with it - it's just a zip file full of mostly bmp images.

I have my Primo 2 set up with VW start up and some good schemes to choose from map page wise and Ozzie R20 maps etc.

I'm not sure where you got that idea from, if you read the last few pages of the thread you'll find plenty of posts talking about the new unit. I don't have a set date simply because I wasn't given one. I am not inclined to repeat the same information every couple of pages in the thread.

my unit has been working great but over the last few days the gps signal has been very flakey, sometimes i never get a signal, sometimes i get a signal after 20 minutes and other times after exiting igo and going back in a few times and then waiting a few minutes it finds a signal.

it used to be that it would have a signal as soon as the car was started, i've not changed anything and still park in the same places that i did when the signal was instant.

any ideas?

Did you perhaps perform a firmware upgrade recently? Sometimes this can happen. Try resetting the iGo software by deleting the folder named "save" on your GPS SD.

I have just received an update but I've yet to find any substantial improvements - I think this is just an incremental update that makes changing car logo / loading screen a bit easier, though so far it is still from a selection of preset images. I will send it out once I get more information on what has changed.

Any news on getting the OPS display to work consistently ?
