i have RNS 510 with these parameters:

1T0035680B
HW VERSION H04
SW VERSION 1120
SV SW-VERSION C_EU_7.112_t1010
HW VEHICLE 0xC201

I read all previous posts and I think that i can make upgrade to 402x modified firmware. It's OK?

But I dont know if I must then make coding my units. Can you tell me please if it will work (parking sensors, multifunction steering wheel etc.) without coding?

You should probably use 3980 firmware modified for older units. There is 4020 firmware with tables swapped available however I don't know of a public source at the moment.
You will not need to change any coding, this is not affected by firmeware upgrade.

You can use either 3908 or 4020, as long as it has been modified for older units.

1T0035680B is a C6 Version and look in the FW 3980 . you dont have any problems

Man this is giving me a headache.... I'm trying to load the 4020 image into my Rev C.
I've tried 3 different media (2 DVDs and a CD) and always get the same error - the SWL media error - at exactly the same place. Apps 100%, HDD 0%

Any ideas? :/

Update - using sw_fix I've at least got a working unit again, but my maps are gone.. Media is still there.
Old version was 2720... I'm wondering if it's a problem switching from 2 to 3 partitions?


Another update - unit shows FW4020, but partitions still seem to be 50/25/25. And the maps reappeared.

I understand from reading forums that I first have to upgrade to 2684? Then I can upgrade to 3814 to have the POI Partition? And after this its possible to run the modified version? Or is the modified one from the first post for VW only? Still have much to lurn .

You can upgrade straight to the modified 4120 version for Europe.

You cannot enable dab radio with a software update. It is a newer rns unit with a dab board.
You should load modified 4020 firmwarw for older units.

To add to the confusion ... the current versions of Australian and European maps are both called 7920.
