Firmware updates for RNS510 units in Australia/NZ

It's not an A unit, yes you can use 4120. A, B, C rev etc only refer to Vw golf/polo/tiguan etc parts so a bit of a misnomer.

My C unit didn't have the secret menu either until I upgraded the firmware from the original similar version to yours

I had the get a late 3???? to get it to appear then went to 4120

yeah when I hold the setup button all I get is that radio diag screen that shows the aerial strength etc.

I'll update later today and report back.

quick question... do the new maps from here include a stock set of POI or must i load custom ones?

Has the POI that come with the maps you buy at stealers of course as its a "Copy" read first post for custom POI with about 300 POI in it

Yesterday updated to firmware version 412x on my 4/12 build Superb.
What changes should I find compared to my previous 38xx(?) Version? Sure I read somewhere about a second navigation voice option but no idea how to find / select it. Don't think I lost my map data however I did re install v5 since I was not sure that I would be able to load v6 maps into a unit which had already had v6 maps installed.
Any tips great fully received!

There is a male voice found by going to settings in the Nav and looking for it

It arrived with 4120 Firmware You can update to V6 if you have V5 as you would have lost map data with the firmware update.

Your maps are up to date but there is newer firmware.

Never did find the "male voice" however something I just noticed today, pretty sure before when driving with the 510 not switched on there was a digital clock displayed in Centre of the screen. No sign of it now???

Is in mine. comes on when switched off and key is inserted. Voice is in the NAV/ settings

Found clock in System settings. Option is On or Off. Quite why one would prefer it Off is beyond me. Looked everywhere (I think) but still cannot see that Male /Female navigation voice option.

My clock is switched off. Don't really see the point in having it on when the MFD shows the time. Switching it on loses a line of track information when listening to music. Unless your passenger likes to see the time, which is the only need for enabling it.
