Hi Bassik, it's just the age/revision of the BT unit. From around early 2013 they've been able to show track info and respond to MFSW controls, assuming the phone is compatible. You can buy new ones at carsystems.eu or Ebay or swap if you want, although I'd recommend using VCDS to document the current settings of each BT module in case there are a few differences.

Hi Greg, thanks
I can't find the firmware of the current HU in my Golf but I managed to find the unit under my seat and its version 7P6 035 730 B. don't think that's the same as my Polo module. I'm selling the Polo so I don't mind swapping I'm just not sure if its the HU or the module that enables this features?
Also I'm a little lost to not being able to see firmware version of HU in Golf. (Probably see my other post lol)
UPDATE: It worked....when I was driving home.Last edited by Bassik; 15-08-2013, 08:22 PM.GOLF GTI MY11 ADIDAS Candy White, Sunroof

I note carsytems.eu is a popular source for parts. I am after a 7P6035730L (9W7) which they sell. Can anyone who has used them, adivise if they consolidate or reduce shipping for multiple items? For example would I pay three times the 35EUR shipping for 3 x 9W7 modules?Last edited by logger; 25-09-2013, 01:15 PM.Golf Mk6 118 TSI DSG |APR Stage I ECU Upgrade | HEX-USB+CAN

Pretty sure they have combined shipping (ebay parlance). Sometimes for small things they ship free, or by post so it's cheap, but usually by a more expensive method (UPS). It's welll worth getting everything you might ever want to purchase in one shot to reduce shipping costs.2008 Skoda Octavia Elegance TDI 4x4 wagon

Just get in touch with them before you order and they should be able to give you a shipping quote

Indeed, I contacted carsytems and they offered me good discounts on purchase and shipping for multiples. In the end though I couldn't be bothered with the onselling and downside risk so I just grabbed one unit.
While I await its arrival - what are the pro's and cons of fitting a BT unit beneath the drivers seat vs the dash on a Golf 6.Golf Mk6 118 TSI DSG |APR Stage I ECU Upgrade | HEX-USB+CAN

Behind climatronics unit: quicker, easier fit. Can take up room if there are any other harnesses for an amp etc
Under seat: oem position. Takes a little longer, have to run cable under carpet.2011 Skoda Octavia vRS TDI DSG wagon|Revo Stage 1|Race Blue|Leather|Dynamic Xenons w 6000K|9w7 BT|THA475 Amp+active sub|Whiteline ALK|RVC|

Only other advantage to the under-seat location is if a new BT module comes out with new features and you decide that you want to upgrade to it, which means swapping the units is simpler.

I fitted mine under the seat, simply because I didn't want to introduce any rattles behind the dash. Running the cable under the seat only takes about an extra ten mins, so not much of hassle. Hardest part was routing the cable through the roof lining for the microphone (I didn't have any BT fitted from factory).
And as Ryan_R mentioned, it's a 2 minute job to upgrade in the future if required.2010 Candy White Golf GTI 5Dr. Manual, RNS-510, Bluetooth, Tints, GT-CX 18 Gloss Black Rims.

Some stiff but flexible cable such as coaxial works well to pull the microphone cable through the headliner.

Yes and highly recommend getting some of that black cloth tape for noise reduction so you don't get cable vibration inside your head liner.
Couldn't see it on carsystems.pl but it is available from bold-sport: Bold-Sport.com :: Cloth Webbed Adhesive Tape - Coroplast 8510 10M

Thanks for the great gen. One more question. Is the OEM position for RHD under the drivers or passengers seat and indeed does it matter? Carsystems instructions have it under Right seat but I expect that is for LHD. Do vw swap it for RHD or does it remain the same.Golf Mk6 118 TSI DSG |APR Stage I ECU Upgrade | HEX-USB+CAN

It doesn't really matter. I chose passenger seat, as I was routing the mic cable over to that side any way, I just took all cables the same way at the same time.2010 Candy White Golf GTI 5Dr. Manual, RNS-510, Bluetooth, Tints, GT-CX 18 Gloss Black Rims.
