The module coding I used was '020000010100010000000400', broken down as follows (with thanks to Maverick's my-gti website):
Byte 0: 02 - English Language
Byte 1: 00 - Voice Command Activated
Byte 2: 00 - VW Microphone (The harness had the wire bridge already installed for using the RNS-510/Columbus mic)
Byte 3: 01 - Antenna error diagnosis inactive (default code 00 created error prior to me making it inactive)
Byte 4: 01 - Baseplate error diagnosis inactive (default code 00 created error prior to me making it inactive)
Byte 5: 00 - Mute cooperating with soundsystem active (i.e. music/radio mutes when making or taking call)
Byte 6: 01 - Three key overhead console control unit inactive (not fitted to Superb) / SMS possible (default code 00 created error)
Byte 7: 00 - Multimedia function active for BT Audio and Multimedia
Byte 8: 00 - Type of registration of mobile phone = Supporting THB (this is default and it worked)
Byte 9: 00 - Function call for help = people with disabilities (again, this is default and it worked)
Byte 10: 04 - Fuel Type = Diesel
Byte 11: 00 - Vehicle type = M1 (another default that works... not sure what this is either)\( O ) o\====(\X/)=TDI=/o ( O )/ 2011 Jetta Mk5 125TDI - Squidly

this link carsystems.pl should address your question about the 1Z0035729B.
the 7P6035730F is cheaper, but it will only work on the rcd/rns screen. it won't show/display on the red mfd.

I've used them a few times, no issues.

I installed this into my Mk5 GTI and I can't seem to get the MFD to work with it even after VCDS coding. But I also get a fault code as well, an open circuit error with the phone control module. I'm thinking this may be to do with the Mk5 not having a complete wiring loom. If anyone knows the answer to that it would be great to know!My Car: 2008 Volkswagen Golf MY08 Mk5 GTI 5 Door

I had another look at the fault codes and sure enough it's Control Module for Cellular Telephone coming in as an Open Circuit.
It works perfectly fine through the RNS510 i just can't use it via the steering wheel functions. I've checked all over the place and can't seem to find anything related.
Also please note I am not using the 9WZ bluetooth kit. I am using the 9W7.
I also just realized something. The 9W7 may not work with the red MFD from the mk5. I think it's missing part of the wiring loom going to the RNS-510. Hmmm.My Car: 2008 Volkswagen Golf MY08 Mk5 GTI 5 Door

I didn't think the 9W7 was designed to work with the Red MFD period

Some more info here:
VW Bluetooth module FAQ and how to swap or retrofit it in your Jetta, Golf, and sportwagen: 9w2, 9w3, and 9w7
Would be handy if someone could copy the link to the first post along with a note indicating the first few pages of info are quite out of date

Purchased one from carsystems and it arrived in a week, great services as always from them
Have swapped the control module under the seat with my 9W7, will report back on the bluetooth control and ID3 tag display on my RNS510 shortly.

so will the 9W7 work with my multifunction steering wheel (old wheel with 4 round buttons on each side) if I have a red MFD?
and will voice activation work?

It's great being able to see the track names on the RNS and MFD and being able to skip to the next track via the steering wheel and not reaching for my iphone all the time!
Incidentally, my 9W7 is now up for sale

Good to hear. Maybe I should upgrade my 9W3 unit if the price is next to nothing although it's hard knowing there's a better one out there, and who knows if there is another version in the works or if they've stopped making MK6 ones and are now focusing on MK7.
In any case it'll be interesting to see how much you sell it for... *adds to watch list*
