  • I had to my knowledge - played around with it and had a break.

Came back and it was working. Maybe during the lock - I doubt that had any idea.

Works much better than the crappy Fibredyne unit I had.

    • Would anyone happen to know the part number of the bracket pictured below. It came with my premium skoda bt kit and I'm looking to sourcing a version for the passenger side (if one, or a similar one, exists). Ignore that it's black. It's normally just a bare metal bracket.

The part number on my current one was scratched off for some reason.

      • Does anyone have any suggestions for remotely operating an iphone 4S in a 2011 MY Golf Comfortline 118TSI fittd wth RCD310? I dont have bluetooth installed and I dont use my car for business purposes and normally only get 1-2 phone calls when I'm driving (sad I know). I cant justify the $800+ spend for proper bluetooth so was looking for perhaps a blueant feature that I could use on the rare occasions that I need to answer or make a phonecall. I started to troll through the 49 pages of this thread but it was just too much. Any suggestions?

        • You could perhaps find one of the older premium bluetooth (i.e. 9W3) kits on eBay for much less than you estimated (plus they don't cost that much to begin with - I only paid $400ish for mine 1.5 years ago). It might not have music streaming but it'll still be much better quality than any add-on device.

For a review of portable devices your best bet would be to just search Google since we haven't discussed them here much.

Here's a newer sub-$300 option (although you'll have to get it fitted (DIY, friend, or dealer)

          • Now that I have decided to get the 9W7 bluetooth module after reading all the recommendations and instructions (thanks all contributed!), but then I realised I have got the Dynaudio and as a result, the amp (big silver metal block) is right under the passenger seat where the bluetooth module supposed to be placed.

Any suggestions? I searched under the driver's side but couldn't see anything that can mount the 9W7...

            Many thanks!

most have installed it under the head unit, and just zip tied it to the frame under there, but might depend on whether you have the standard or auto climate control.

              • Inside the dash behind the AC controls, under the Head unit, will fit nicely. I have mine wrapped in a bit of foam from Clark Rubber to prevent any potential rattles. Most guides recommend this location as it's easier/quicker than routing cables under the carpet.

FYI, I recently asked the same question and came up with nothing - I even asked "bluewagen" (ebay seller) and he didn't know? I personally went for the F version through this seller as it was the cheapest 9W7 I could find.

                            • Hi All,

I have a MY12 Golf GTI with RCD510 [5K0 035 190 A] and factory bluetooth 9WZ [5K0 035 730 D]. I have seen others with the 9W7 module get voice control working with the RCD510. I have tried enabling via VDCS the PTT steering wheel button and also the "Voice Operation active" for the telephone module but it still doesn't work. I already have full telephone integration via Bluetooth with my iPhone4, i can make and receive calls, browse the phone book, etc so I assume I have a mic installed.

Has anyone else been able to get the combo working? am i missing some additional wiring somewhere? or is there a part of the VCDS coding I've missed?

                              • Did you install the BT yourself? A lot of the kits were never wired up correctly (i.e. the mic is wired up to the BT unit for calls, but not wired up to the HU for voice control).
