      • I tried 215/45/15 on our own kamei car this time around on the 9" rear wheel and will definetly go for 225 next time around though the price difference is silly when i looked around.

It gives a slight stretch and the tyre wall is a bit higher up though we are comparing that to our 8" front wheel with the 205 on.

yours are a much better contact patch compared to my 215 rear:

        • I chose the 225/45/15 for it's rolling diameter which works out the same as the stock 185/60/14 so I cold keep with the existing gearbox ratios I'm used to.

I'd baselined to 8" rims due to class restrictions and the issues I've seen with other light weight cars not being able to get sufficient heat into larger rims/tyres.

          • Headers are back from ceramic coaters and I've started wiring.

Rear lights, both fuel pumps and both side of the windscreen are wired back to where the switch panel will be.

              • Slowy moving through the electricals.

I've chosen LS1 coils to run in a one coil per cylinder configuration.

The terminals accept stock VW leads.

Made up a loom to drive the coils.

                • Extended the wiper loom and finished off the install of the single wiper setup.

I've got the range of motion and central park position all working properly.

                  • Got the front indicators in and wired up.

Mounted small white LED lights for use as rain lights in the bumper holes along with the tow hooks.

I'll get the tow eyes powder coated yellow.

                    • ECU has arrived from the UK.

Freshly rebuilt gearbox - finally my peloquin is fitted.

Odyssey battery I picked up at Phillip Island last weekend.

This will be the control panel, it's currently under construction and will be painted something other than green.

It's an ammo box from an Army surplus store.

                      • Loving it Pete, you've been busy!

Love the switch box and LS1 coils.

Is ECU to run the ABF? (are you going to pop the 8V in first to get it running or go straight for the 16V)

And did you rebuild the box yourself?

                        • I got Lloyd Davies of Volkwerke to rebuild the box for me, I'm running out of time.

Motor details will be available at DOVW.
