Here's the second timed session.

The data display runs out about 1/2 way because I accidentally truncated the log data in the conversion process.

I got warned for being too loud after the first run so for the next 2 runs I short shifted to 5th gear on the main straight.

The car read 80dB and the limit for that day was 75dB. I'll fix it by fitting an airbox.

Oh, and yes, I do miss a few gear changes along the way in this round. I think I need to make some adjustments to the shifter.

The top speed I've seen so far is just over 180km/h or about 110mph. 5th gear is a limiting factor here. The box builder must have used a 0.75 5th instead of the 0.91 I thought I'd supplied.

If you look at the RPMs in the videos it's dropping nearly 2500 RPM in 5th which just isn't right.

Some quick calculations confirm a 0.75 5th but I'll have to explore a little further yet.

The OBP pedal box isn't that well set up for left foot braking, I need to modify it further to alter the position of the accelerator.

sounds about right with your thoughts on 5th gear, you can even hear how far out it is. Still, it doesnt seem to be slowing you down!!!

I'm entered in the PI sprint this Sunday.

I don't think this gearbox is right so I've swapped in box out of white.

If you look back at white's old videos you'll see that the RPM drop in 5th is around 1400 RPM which is correct for a 0.91 5th gear.

This means that I'm also back on the wavetrac so I'll have a more direct comparison of the two diffs in the same car.

I'm pretty decided on a proper clutch style diff for the 02A when I get around to it.

I really need to spend more time behind the wheel, my technique needs a lot of improving.

Weather today was pretty crappy in the morning so I sat a few rounds out and pushed hard in the afternoon.

Getting pretty consistent 2.00 times, I need to man up and turn in faster to turn 1.

This old gearbox is much better, no synchro issues and the correct 5th gearing, shifts really nicely.

I prefer the wavetrac over the peloquin. It saved me a couple of times today where the peloquin would have turned me around.

I got to try the heated windscreen today. It's awesome!

It clears the screen super fast with the need for any blowers.

Took less than a minute to clear a screen you couldn't see though.
