Drove down to wsid tonight for some mayhem , I managed to get a new personal best of 12.719s. The new strip is good but the right lane is a little bumpy.
My last two runs were not that great as I couldn't keep the wheels from spinning and the stoopid computer decided to cut all power to the wheels, but overall had a good time and it was packed. The starting grid on the right was way too much slippery as the wheels would spin a great deal every time. The 12.719 was done in the left lane, the rest of the runs in the right lane...Might have to launch at lower revs next time. I also lowered the air pressure in all four tyres...
Times below...I also listed the other cars I went up against, got smoked by some Fords
Well done Rob. That is a cracking time. I meant to text you yesterday to see if you were going as I had the day off. Do you think the HPA flash made a difference to the time or just the colder air?
12.7 with that 104 MPH is a really good time. A little odd that your MPH dropped 2Mph in the later runs but that could be for a number of reasons. Inlet temps usually but you say that it was cutting power so it must have been a bit down for a decent stretch
Anything 12 is a fast street car
Drop the tyre pressures way down to get traction
P.S. - I worked out that DSG is the go for drag racing, gave mine a good blast last Sunday now we have the DSG clutches all sorted. Still have that "staging" delay, even with launch control & new software.
Hey Ferret, we were just testing clutches & running in the engine, so short shifting - still pretty quick! I might hang onto the numbers for a bit, don't want to give too much away
