The difference is in both the new DP and the cooler weather. Unless Mark loaded another tune without telling me the tune that is on there at the moment is the same one that I ran the first time at WSID (it was loaded the same day) and also the same one that I ran at the dyno day. On the dyno at TurboXS it makes 201kw at the wheels vs 181kw with the APR DP. You may have seen the back and forth between Guy and me in the tuning thread about whether the different DP can really make that much difference. Time slip says it does because there is no way 10 degrees cooler air is going to make that much otherwise Ferret would have been even quicker than me.

Exactly. Ferret was at WSID last week and running 25psi tyre pressure was having traction problems. I think it was the first meeting there since they resurfaced the track. They had a race meet on the weekend so there was plenty of rubber put down and last night I was running road pressures and had no issues.

      • True, I'm just going by experiences with both tracks over the last 10 years that myself and mates have had. Heathcote was generally maintained at a higher standard (mainly the 60' area) where as calder was a very shiny, slick, slippery surface which would get covered in oil quiete often due to the tardy marshaling, the lower temp down melbourne would be a factor also.
Depends on the day though I guess.
Again... so good to see a couple of R's into the 12's now

          Hi Michael,
Its the same file I was too lazy to change it as we are going to Autotech the beast soon anyway. There were more files earlier on pre dyno day that you might not have been aware of thats all.

Hey parso, do you think that it's possible that something you've done in your tune has allowed zbeasty to exceed the VW limit of 3000rpm using LC?

You still need the DSG flash if you want faster shifts and higher clamping pressures not that I'm complaining about my new found launch capabilites.

                          • 60' time still looks a little off. What rpm are you launching at? Given you have the HPA DSG tune you might want to try about 4000 or even up to 4500. If you have traction problems lauching at those revs you might want to drop your tyre pressures as well. Assume you're still running the 18's with the Kuhmo's and haven't put the 19's back on. If so try dropping them to 36psi.
