If you got it through European Autotech, then I believe you may have an older version. I got it done on the 23rd (I think) and Derek said my R was the first that he'd applied the update to...
Just confirmed a new update was released on the 24th March, gonna head down tomorrow for the upgrade .....any other Stage 2 or equivalent cars plan on going down the 1/4? Would be interesting to compare results especially from other tunes (GIAC, custom ones etc)...
Can't do another 1/4 mile run for at least 5 weeks now because of future engagements Let's hope the new apr 2+ tune puts out some extra horses down the 1/4 mile....
I don't know the technical specifics of what changed, but the midrange power delivery has improved A LOT, turbo spool up coming quicker now etc. There has been some discussion in the Tuning forum about how this "hole" in the power delivery meant that when power did come on, you'd get a nice kick in the back. But that means when customers then tried a custom tune where this area was improved, whilst the car was actually measurably faster, it "felt slower" because it's so much smoother you dont' get the "kick". That's how best to describe the new APR Stage II+ software released end of last month.
... but if there are more questions, we better take it to the tuning forum so this doesn't go further off topic.
Apparently there has been an increase in torque, but making overall same top power 194kW (old tune) 191kW (new tune revised tune).

The revision on the Golf R has the same top end in HP & torque, just a lot of work done on the midrange where the fuel pump does a lot of its work, made it a lot smoother throughout.

Yep exactly as I thought.

Oh yeah he'll need that fixed for sure . 110 mph TS is pretty impressive and the 108 was most likely the clutch not getting the power transferred.
I really like to see guys modding their cars engine wise in order to get some decent power and times rather than just doing a car up for looks. To me it's what it's all about, maybe I'm a bit old fashioned though.

I also couldn't agree more mate, hence why I purchased light weight 17's rather than 18's. Sad to see people destroy a cars performance for the sake of looks!
