All ready for the Dyno runs this afternoon.
Full tank of full - CHECK

DYNO results
Runs had Racing Line Air Filter

Stock RS230 is 169Kw/230hp at the Flywheel.

Below is at the wheels
Pink - Stock 153.5 Kw / 205.8 hp
Green - JB4 Map 1 (4.5 psi extra) 170.1 Kw / 228.1 hp
Red - JB4 Map 2 (5.0 psi extra) 176.7 Kw / 236.9 hp

I have no idea what happy laps is but it sounds like something I wish they'd do down here if it means that you don't have to bolt an extinguisher into your car to turn a wheel in anger on a racetrack. I've got a solution to mount one in my old 6R Polo Gti for a motorkhana, haven't checked to see whether it would bolt under the Skoda seat rails yet. Will have to be careful when I check, I think the boss would crack it if she saw me prepping it for a track day.......

I have no idea what happy laps is but it sounds like something I wish they'd do down here if it means that you don't have to bolt an extinguisher into your car to turn a wheel in anger on a racetrack. I've got a solution to mount one in my old 6R Polo Gti for a motorkhana, haven't checked to see whether it would bolt under the Skoda seat rails yet. Did some testing of the JB4, Stock/Map 1 & Map 2, and emailed to BMS, he was happy with the results, buts once I get the Lambda plugs I shall re test to see if the AFR are better, currently a little rich for my liking, but thats ok, rather that than lean....

As we have a Track day coming up, Thought I'd be safe than sorry...
So Popped in to Bunnings for a 1kg Fire Extinguisher (Dry Powder $15.80)

Installed with Cable ties in the boot via the cargo net hooks, seems to hold up for a lap around the block.

Hey HPRS230, are there CAMS affiliated clubs in QLD cool with the extinguisher being mounted in the boot like that and with no clasp?
I've had many an argument with motorsport marshals down here in Vic over the years about placement and brackets of compulsory fire extinguisher that wasn't within arms reach of the driver and properly retained with a clasp.
That might become a missile in a decent shunt, not dissing your work, just wouldn’t want you to spend all your time prepping your car for the track and getting KB’ed on the day by a knit picking marshal.

Edit, it may have been the tpms sensors, so we have tightened them up

hey mate I also have the JB4 on my 16 VRS TSI. Did you get the display to come up on the Columbus?? How did u do this apart from the wireless unit? I thought it was only an app on android / iphone? Or are you using Mirror Link? Whenever I try and use mirror link on my android it always says no compatible apps found...

Hey Mate,
To get it displayed on your Columbus, you need:
- JB4 Wireless kit (I did try with usb Y cables and a like, but the phone didnt like it)
- OBD11 (Pro I guess) https://www.autoinstruct.com.au/prod...nostic-system/
- Enable Video in motion via OBD11 MirrorLink + Video In Motion on US MIB2 = working (!!!)
- Plug Android Phone in and Mirrorlink it to dash.
- Then enjoy your gauges on the screen.

Mirrorlink is only Android, But Im on the hunt for an iphone workaround...

As well as sorting out the above, I've ordered a DTE pedal box thingy.
Should have by Friday, fingers crossed....

So after shopping around, I got all the bits I needed to install the ignition power to the drivers side.

On a side note,
I think I've seen a couple of other RS230's around Brisbane, by only looking out for the black pipes....

Set the Cold Pressures very early this morning.


Bit disappointing that its not really 0.1 PSI, more like 0.3/0.4 PSI.
So cant really get them all the same.
