There's also the Sach's clutch that reviews well, note that we get 19% off too being outside the EU:

I believe so, at least from reading golfmk7.com forums. Basically, you can put together a collection of OEM parts that include parts from the TTRS clutch. This is an alternative to getting an uprated after-market clutch, and they believe that some of those kits are doing the same thing (OEM parts slightly modified). One such highly rated clutch is the RSR Clutch from HS Tuning:Originally posted by HPRS230 View PostIs that the thing do to do is it? TTRS clutch? That would definitely help!

Yea I'm hearing ya on the clutch, RS230 is manual only, so will only be 'tuned' when needed. It's a daily driver car so no need to stuff clutch going to work.

Yeah, I saw you were organising a group buy but wasn't sure if it went ahead or not.Originally posted by HPRS230 View PostI ordered via Autoinstruct.
I started a group but, so I got a better price, But I had to order 6 units.
The reviews I've read say its the best thing you can do for easy performance.
I've read lots about the JB4 on golfmk7.com but having a manual RS I'm concerned about my clutch. My wife is still pissed off about needing to replace the clutch on our last car so I'm not prepared to risk it yet on the new one. Perhaps when I've put aside enough money to pay for a TTRS clutch assembly (much higher torque rating) and the labour to install it...

The Pricing on the Autoinstruct website is still very good. Get in fast as there is/was a sale on.

Ordered a JB4 for it, so should be good.
Anyone know a good dyno place? Brisbane North side??
Going to give East Coast Customs a go, their Dyno rate seems fair ($195 per hour)
New Air Filter from Canberra VW Centre turned up
Hope I get similar results as Ferret VRSLast edited by HPRS230; 10-01-2017, 05:30 PM.

Run in period - drive it like you stole itOriginally posted by woofy View PostYeah was me, i was used to Japanese cars getting the oil changed at the 1000 or 1500 km mark. Even my diesel Santa Fe had it. But those apart from the Santa Fe had 6mth service with cheap oil unless you told them otherwise. I asked over and over again including my cousin who is an ex Honda/Mazda mechanic then later a vw/Audi and the answer was leave the factory oil in.
I kept our 2008 RS until this year and my parents have it, all is good. I have a slight rattle where you are talking about at certain revs on hills using the clutch since new but is so slight I haven't bothered. I already had to go back to get the tint fixed and the scratches/cuts in the glass fixed where they cut into the windows doing the tint so not keen on seeing them anytime soon again.
Btw the car run in period, i.e. Ramp up the revs etc is between 1500-2000kms so might have paid to leave the oil in until that was done.
Drive it like an old man it will always be a slug, drive it like a race car it will always be a nice free revving engine (within reason) I spent 12 years in automotive and you could always tell the difference
With engine technology and metals used in engine cylinder bores the old school method of "running in" no longer applies
Piston rings like to have moderation - driving for long periods without varying revs/load will do far more damage

Being with the k's I do, mine will be due every 4.5-5 months for a service anyway and mostly highway k's
Good quality synthetic oil makes a difference
If I was doing a mid change, they are very easy to do yourself
