New Nav map available in Skoda update portal

Hi all, I'm trying to update the maps in my 2015 Octavia RS. Having some difficultly and this is the first time i have had to do this. Read somewhere that can use USB rather than SD card. Dont have a SD slot on my desktop home PC so would like to use a USB if i can.

Have downloaded files, unzipped and moved Mib1 and Mib2 files to the root directory. Plugged USB into car, but it the system doesnt find find the source files.

Any tips, of does the USB method simply not work?

It does if you do it right and you havent You d/load to PC then UNZIPto your USB and it will have 3 files on it not 2 the two you have and a text file

Most who have done it correctly havent had trouble but d/loads have been slow at times and fast at others.

Not sure how you can download incorrectly :-/

Interesting that so many had to go to the VW portal to get the previous update.

I was merely mentioning that the latest update is available and downloaded ok from the Skoda portal.

Updates for AUS are no longer on the VW portal.

Isnt hard to get a problem if download is really slow. It took over 3 hours first time I tried and it didnt unzip properly and so wouldnt install

I later d/loaded it in about 80 mins and it worked It has actually been on there for 2 weeks as I got it about a week ago

What I meant was that if Unzipped properly onto a card it will work. Some dont follow instructions and have problems There is another thread about map updates in the Golf Mk 7 forum with a link to the mapfile so you dont even have to go to the Skoda site

Thanks, text file was part of the problem. I also worked out that my USB was not in FAT format. Once I addressed this then the maps updated no problem. Appreciate your assistance.

I picked the Golf GTI, Discover Pro, Non-European countries (P71_N60S5MIBH3_ROW.7z)

Downloaded it, extracted onto a 32GB SD card formatted to FAT32. I'm quite sure I've done everything right.

Friends, does anyone have this P71_N60S5MIBH3_ROW.7z file on their computer to upload to me?

We are an Australian site and 71 version was a 2018 version and we are on Ver 88 from June

I know, however my car (Audi TT MK3) is only licensed for up to the P71 ROW 2018-2019 .... 2020 does not accept. The most I found and worked was P68_N60S5MIBH3_ROW_NT 2018....

ROW = rest of world = included in the same file Australia and Brazil

Maybe you should try the question on an AUDI forum then as they seem to do things differently to VW and Skoda

The VW and Skoda files are the same thing ,just named slightly different. Dont know what Audi have as is a different system to access them

This is being discussed on TT forum here. I have a 2015 TT mk3 and have the same issue. Basically, after 3 years, your car blocks new maps unless you pay Audi to unlock it.

Version 90 is available on Skoda Update Portal. Current to Calendar Week (CW) 45 2020 - early November.

Update portal (skoda-auto.com)

Took around an hour to download file, another hour to unzip files to SD card and 45 minutes to update my Karoq.

Used a 32GB SDHC class 10 card, formatted to FAT32.
