Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    • it worked out to $380 NZD delivered. Just make sure to select Aussie Flag for Aussie Dollar and tick excl. VAT radio box.
Wife would notice it in a good way in terms of handling. if she attacks speed bumps like she's in a 4WD then nothing will save your front end from Damage The nice thing with the pro is it's a practical height for taking a full car load without scrubbing etc. but still gives a nice sporty look.

        • As I now have a Chassis Number for the RS, I've gone ahead and purchased a fair bit of extra weight or is it 5 extra kilowatts?

Aliexpress: Skoda Knife badges (like the Golf GTI PP); Interior rubber mats (console); Rubber Key Fob covers; Phone hold for air vent
ebay: Black with Skoda logo valve caps; Door Edge Protectors; Door striker covers and hinge covers; Green & Red pinstripe; couple of key rings.
All up was about $90, not bad I thought.

          Also on the look out:
          For a good Dash cam
Superskoda discount week for rubber mats, or are there cheaper ones in Aus?
Directcarparts RGM rear guard bumper protector
and then when its delivered, a TPMS from Inawise.

          • I really would like dash cams to start to be integrated. I would really like one, but I'm very hesitant to get one installed as our Santa Fe has been a nightmare with control modules getting woken up by things like that and draining the battery. Just a turned off in roof LCD monitor is driving us nuts.

            • Eibach's arrived this morning time to book it in to be installed.
I've ordered new Denso Plugs for the IS38 swap which are yet to arrive only thing holding me up is waiting for my tuners E-tune kit to arrive so that he can start tuning MQB's otherwise if impatient I can always go Unitronic
And also just ordered an adjustable rear Sway bar from 034Motorsport.
Also I fitted my LED trunk Leds from Superskoda yesterday, so nice and bright in the boot.
Purchased a set of VW OEM LED license plate units will need to disable monitoring with VCDS
Mudflaps have arrived, hopefully once I've washed the car I'll fit them on too.

Had a look a superskoda again and I'm really tempted to get the kids/privacy sunshades for the rear as well as the gas struts for the bonnet.
What erks me is that these cars are so beautiful and well speced yet they skimp on some extremely minor things like the rear RS scuff plates and the gas strut, I got spoilt with the golfs but i really hate the stand and on the Skoda they hold the bonnet extremely precariously

Agree they need to start integrating them into vehicles with Navigation, I'm sure its in the pipe line with the tech that's going into lane assist and reverse cameras etc. they should add a camera in the front of the car and allow you to code it to work as a dash cam as cars with Navigation already have access to GPS most cars these days also have expandable memory for media ie. SD slots, USB ports.

Don't expect an instantaneous drop upon install. My Eibachs took sometime to settle in.....probably around 2 months and they're still slowly settling in now.

                      Was that with Daily Driving?
I do about 40km a day and being back country roads a lot of it is twisty
I'm sure it'll settle a lot quicker, but I'll keep you guys posted regardless

I also have a gloss black one (used, needs new double sided tape)

And matching inner and outer one (outer one is probably not suited for RS and may need new tape. I had it fitted for a few minutes before pulling it off before it stuck too hard and put refitted the backing tape) cost me $140 AUD for both plus freight, open to offers, PM me.
