Just got advice my RS is set for build in week 21 - bit of a shame it's early really as it misses the MY16 updates by 1 week.

In looking at this a bit more the MY16 updates for the RS appear very minor (some new functionality for the Columbus unit) so don't want to create any reason for a delay that may be lot more hassle than it worth.
Actually quite surprised I got the build date so early based on the delays noted by many - I ordered in late February so it appears maybe Skoda has ramped up their production as reported.
So would it be reasonable to assume around 8-10 weeks to delivery in Australia after the build?

Anyone have any suggestions for alternative options?

Wow. Build times (or more likely the allotment to Australia) have come down substantially. Those times are what the UK has been seeing for a year2014 Skoda Ambition Plus 103TSI candy white wagon, 6sp Manual, Tech pack, Panoramic Sunroof, 18's, Colour Maxidot, Comfort BT

Mainly paint issues from the factory. Not the dealers fault.
When i picked it up, went straight to the petrol station and checked all the tyre pressures, oil level and colour, coolant levels, brake fluid levels. All is good.
Unfortunately, by the time it was registered (custom plates), signed finance, other paperwork and a quick run down on how the important bits and pieces work...it was 6pm.
I also bought the heavy duty rubber floor mats. They fit really well and totally worth it. I also got the front and rear mud flaps...but i am not 100% on them...as it looks like i have to make a hole for the 3rd screw...ahhhh...no thanks. But we will see. Going to order the 100mm plastic boot dish as well.
Also in talks with a car audio place to install sound deadening all inside the boot area.
Going to jack it up this week and inspect the under carriage as well.Last edited by Reichter; 28-04-2015, 11:03 PM.MY15 VW Golf R | White | Manual

Similar to when you have water on glass like this:

And yes, I haven't washed my car in a month or so. It's only on the left hand doors and panels and some part of left front bumper....
I believe it could be bore water as sometimes I drive past sprinklers on near a government building... Ughhhh
Water spots are caused by mineral deposits left as water dries. To remove, first give it a wash using quality shampoo with a higher concentration rate, you might find it removes some of the superficial stuff. Often people will use a claybar and then follow with machine polish as claying can induce surface marring if not done properly or using aggressive clay or not enough lube. Another option is to use chemical like CarPro Spotless or an IPA based product.
Do some googling on those products and techniques, ask detailing store like CCP or PM me if you need more info. On your glass, you can use glass polish without too much risk of damage.
Oh and after u wash use a decent durable wax sealant or nano coating.
