Loving the car!! Heading to Sydney tomorrow (eeek!) to get tinted and Opticoated. Hopefully the weather will be ok for the drive.
Having some technological issues, and tap talk isnt properly working for me and now my phone wont connect to the pc, so pics will have to come on the weekend.

Good to hear you are pleased with the car.
Watch out though, this is a relatively light car for its size and can be affected by strong cross winds. You don't have that great lump of diesel in the front that your previous Golf had to anchor things down.
Hope everyone in Sydney/Newcastle/other affected areas is safe
I must be in the wrong parts because it's just heavy rain & wind.
I haven't seen any flooding or stranded cars and we still have electricity.
My house is water tight.
I lost a 9m stretch of Ivy off the wall because the lattice it was clinging to had rotted after 20 years. A couple of saplings that had grown too quickly (more tree than root) are on a 45 degree angle. Nothing terrible.
carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
Havent tried it but was considering this for my brothers black merc which he doesn't wash and has some epic watermarks.
Would be interested to know if it works !
The 1.4 is more motor than you need for an everyday car.
Depends what you want from an everyday car.....I had a Rapid 1.4 7sp for a couple of days while my towbar was fitted. It was a really good drivetrain for a runabout - Thought it'd be a good replacement for my ex's 2005 mazda 3., but I'd spend the extra for my manual RS every time.
Yes an rs of a great everyday drivers car, but I've owned a mk 2 rs (bluefinned) and a mk3 with 1.4 and in normal driving there isn't much difference. Overtaking on the highway or giving it stick you notice, but in traffic or in the burbs or cruising on the highway most people wouldn't need the extra.
I'd love an rs, but for 95% of the driving (wife and kids in car) it's hard to justify the extra 10-15k over what we paid.
2014 Skoda Ambition Plus 103TSI candy white wagon, 6sp Manual, Tech pack, Panoramic Sunroof, 18's, Colour Maxidot, Comfort BT
Ordered 07 May 14 (Wk 15), Built Wk 37, Loaded 27/9 (wk 39), Docked 12/11 (wk 46), DELIVERED! 12/12 (end of wk 50 - 7 months + 1 week).
I've drivern the Ambition+ 1.4 DSG, Elegance TDI DSG, RS TSI DSG and RS TSI Manual and for the fun factor I'd have to go with the RS manual, followed up by the RS DSG. But as GTR27 said, for the daily commute there really wasn't much difference. Engine wise they are all pretty good. If you didn't want the bells and whistles the Ambition+ is a great car, but for the rest of them it comes down to sport or comfort, which is ironic when the RS seats I find more comfortable than those in my Elegance. Go figure. However, the best seats of all I found were in the Superb Elegance; Power seats that could be set to the perfect position.

I dream of those days. I am 98% by myself on my bike, but I'd go postal if I had to drive a car in the **** traffic I drive through each day. Filtering keeps me sane, can't do that in a car.
