  • I used "the touch up guys" (sydney franchise) for a previous car, they'd get rid of that for sure, but mine was a large bumper scrape scrape. You wouldn't want them to respray for such a small area. They come out and give a free quote though and the end result was perfect.

If it makes you feel better, my wife come back to our month old VRS and a woman was resting her trolley on the rear quarter panel. My wife lost her sh** at her but she gave her a mouthful back. Some people are just turds.

    • I'd say it's not going to buff out and is there unless you respray. General rule is if you can catch a fingernail in it, it aint gonna buff out.

      • touch up pen + 2000 or 3000 grit wet/dry paper might get it.

        • Does anyone know or can someone check what tyres are on the 17's?

The current car needs some new tyres, but I'm thinking of getting some decent ones and putting them on the Octy (if they're average) and the Octy tyres on the current car

            • 205/50R17, but 225/45's are fine

I was thinking of getting the Pilot Sport 3's for the car

              • OEM will probably be Continentals (good IMO) or maybe Dunlops (no thanks) but there are some reports (from overseas) of Nexen being fitted (WTF?)

PS3 are very good but I wouldn't call them a huge step up from Contis (sport versions). You'd need to go to PSS or a Nitto NT05 or something similar.

Maybe fit 235/45r17 to the older car if the new one has something good? Commodore size & cheap as chips for something good (pS3 can be had for $150 ea)

                • Standard tyres on an Ambition Plus are 225/45R17 in a range of suppliers. Pirelli, Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop and Michelin - whatever they find in the shed on the day. Gone are the days where cars are tuned to a particular model of tyre.

Mine was fitted with Pirelli P7 Cinturatos and a Nexen spare. Not too enthralled about that. I've seen Nexens fitted to a regular Ambition in Australia.

The PS3's are ~$170 from Costco so I was just going to get them there. Just after something that's decent and long lasting.

Thanks for that. I guess I'll have to wait to see what mine come with before I decide what to buy

I've got Conti ExtremeContact DW's imported from the US that have lasted 60K k's so far but they'll need replacing soonish. I was hoping to get Pirelli P7 All Season Plus but they aren't available here and with where the AUD it's not worth importing them

                      • Does everyone's parking sensors beep randomly in traffic sometimes? It may be coincidence but I think my car is allergic to BMW's as when they creep past in slow traffic I sometimes get the parking proximity alarm going off. It's LHS only to date, so just checking I don't have an overactive sensor I suppose?

Complete and utter nonsense, but it could be allergic to the BMW's driver

I think what happens is the parking assist fires up at low speed. At least thats what I reckon is happening to me. The button lights up and it thinks you want to park
