Update on crackling Bluetooth.
Yet again Skoda service assessed the Bluetooth and reported that this is a common problem with the MY15 with similar build date. Skoda technical replied with "this operation is normal, there will be a lower quality of sound via Bluetooth, normal as compared with similar vehicle build year and equipment". They went of to say the "newer" modules/builds do not have crackling.
Skoda tech summed up with there is no action they can take at this stage. Perplexing how crackling Bluetooth which is only on a certain module, is defined as normal, yet various other models/build dates, newer and older do not have this fault.
Seems to to me it is an issue with the modules, not a "normal" operation one would expect out of Bluetooth audio streaming.MY15 Skoda Octavia vRS Race Blue

Keep an eye or ear on that crackling. I used to have an intermittent crackling sound coming from the speakers regardless of the source (CD, Radio, HDD, Bluetooth), lasted about 3 months before the whole audio went out. Still can use the screen and Nav but no sound. It took a while for Skoda HQ to work out the solution and eventually decided to replace the whole unit (not just the screen, but the whole modules in the glovebox as well), haven't had issue since. They actually need to video the fault and sent it to Germany as it was one of the first issue back then.Originally posted by Sharpy View PostUpdate on crackling Bluetooth.

I'll keep a close eye on it. I've already pushed them for a replacement, they pretty bluntly said no.Originally posted by 99Reza View PostKeep an eye or ear on that crackling. On a side note, has anyone had any condensation issues under the drivers floor mat? I have a small amount of moisture there in the carpet and on the foot scuff pad. I'm presuming it's just condensation and not a water leak as it was there prior to it raining today in Melbourne.MY15 Skoda Octavia vRS Race Blue

Do you have a sunroof? I've read there are drain tubes that can block up which results in water in the footwell.Originally posted by Sharpy View PostI'll keep a close eye on it. I've already pushed them for a replacement, they pretty bluntly said no.

Auto dehumidifying
Does anyone know if there is a setting to disable the auto dehumidifying on the Octavia III with Tech & Comfort Pack? I find some days the start stop isn't allowed to stop the engine at traffic lights and when I check the reason is always listed as "Windscreen may become fogged". I think I am clever enough to turn on the aircon if the windscreen does indeed become fogged...

Have booked the car in at skoda next Friday to suss the water issue. My coolant warning light came on this morning though, not sure if related. Anyone have any experience or knowledge of a coolant level and water in drivers footwell?Originally posted by Sharpy View PostI'll keep a close eye on it. Had our Octy serviced today by the dealer
Pretty good experience at Cricks Mt Gravatt. SMS reminders, SMS alert to say car is ready, booked 3 days ago, same price as advertised on website. And they listened when I told them to not wash the car (it has opticoat)
Our build date was June 2015 and the phone button steering wheel did nothing. A software update fixed that
It's the first service, I have just realised the car doesn't have a service logbook anymore, like the old ones where the dealer stamps etc
Instead they print a piece of paper to say the 15000km service has been performed. Is it the same for you?Last edited by Lams; 24-02-2017, 02:00 PM.

Hi all,
picking up my new purchase on Monday. Curious to know anyone in Melbourne who has a VCDS that can activate some of the hidden features, like traffic etc.
Post pics once I pick up the car.....2016 MY17 Skoda Octavia RS Wagon Quartz Metallic Grey DSG

I almost always have the CarPlay feature hooked up though and noticed if it's on blue tooth only phone has to be answered on screen

Glad you had a good experience with them mate. Unfortunately my dealings with them (for fixing the warranty oil-cooler issue) were not brilliant and I doubt I'll be taking the car there when it's due for it's first service.Originally posted by Lams View Post...........Pretty good experience at Cricks Mt Gravatt..........
