Also, a lot of instructions refer to RDS and TP settings, presumably in the radio settings. I only have 'Radio text' (or maybe 'Radio data') both before and after the change. That setting was on when I got the car and I've not touched it since.
The auto tail gate Hawk (Aaron) and I had no luck getting to work earlier in the year in my Jan MY16 build car but he had issues with his software so will organised a time to try again.
I have enabled tailgate close with both buttons, using the regular instructions and OBDEleven. This is on an April build car. I made sure I entered the access code 12345 as soon as I went into the controller. Only then did I go into Adaptations.
MY16.5 Octavia RS wagon, manual, Moon White + tech pack + 18" black pack.
I can confirm my 2016 build (March I think) works with the tailgate close on button and keyfob.
Managed to code this today using OBDeleven dongle.
I also got my live traffic enabled, but I can't get the comfort indicators to flash 5 times. I've set it in the OBD11 app, from 3 to 5, but when using indicators it only flashes 3 times. Cannot find any settings in infotainment where I can select the number of flashes.
And cannot not work out how to "set bit0-2 to 03" to enable high beam assist when long coding, as is instructed in the excellent Briskoda forums linked earlier.
I can select byte 02 as instructed, and bit 1 is enabled. Bits 0 and 2 are unticked. What exactly do I tick/select here, to set bit0-2 to 03?

Well, if they mean set it to 3, that's the first two bits set - bit 0 and bit 1. In binary, bit 0 has a value of 1, and bit 1 has a value of 2. 1 + 2 = 3. That's my educated guess.

I can understand your educated guess..... that's what I thought too.
BUT..... it says set bit0-2....... so my understanding is I have to set bit 0, bit 1 and bit 2.... all to a value of 03?
I need to set bit0-2 to a value of 03..... but not setting byte02 to a value of 3.
What happens to the other pre-ticked bits 3&4..... so I have to untick those and only tick bits 0&1, to get a result of 03?
Sorry to be such a n00b..... don't wanna mess things up!

A question for those of you with a current model Octavia with a manual gearbox...
Do all your changes feel 'smooth' in respect to the movement of the gear stick? In doing 1st-2nd changes, quite often it feels like the gear stick is hitting the sides of the gate as it goes into 2nd. It does get smoother after a few minutes driving, so perhaps it's related to oil temperature?
In going from 3rd-4th, does it seem to stick slightly just rearwards of neutral, requiring a futher push to get it into 4th? It's never happened yet but part of me thinks one day I'll be slightly distacted and it'll jump back out.
I must say the car has only done 1400KMs so it is still bedding in, and I'm slightly OCD about my gear changes so I'm probably over-reacting...

My Mk2 with a DieselGeek short shifter is absolutely horrendous when its cold...
The Mk3's I've driven have been good. But they've all had less than 200km!
My advice would be to keep driving it, and see what happens. It'll probably be fine.

Not including hers...
1st to 2nd on my Mk3 manual (1.4tsi) has never been as smooth as it should be, and often baulks although if I rev out 1st more then the change improves. I consider the gearing gap on my mk3 between 1st/2nd is too wide and contributes to the problem,
The manual gear change on my 5 speed mk2 1.9d diesel was much better, but I thought the overall gearing between all gears was better too.
I have adapted to my style to 'pause' slightly in Neutral on the 1st/2nd change but the other gears are fine for me
I drove a manual Focus (1.0tsi) in the UK last year and the gear change was superbly buttery smooth, especially 1st/2nd. No notchiness, no baulking, it just slipped easily across. Unfortunately not all things perfect as the clutch was too light and it was difficult to know when it was actually engaging.
I have also driven other cars with much worse gearchange issues so I can live with it, but yes it would be nice if it were better.
