EDIT: Actually electronic folding mirrors are super useful for the mirror on the passenger side. Can't always easily reach that while driving. I have folded my mirrors in before when the sun was behind me and effectively blinding me. Instead of adjusting the mirrors to reflect light elsewhere, I simply hit the fold button and they tucked in. A few minutes later when my orientation to the sun changed I hit the button again and everything was as it always was. No having to redo my mirror alignment. Lazy and a very uncommon problem, I know.
What? You must really drive slowly, because on our Superb they won't close once you're on the move.
"Yes Officer, the sun was in my eyes so I decided to fold my mirrors in whilst driving"
MY16 Octavia Scout 132TSI Premium - denim blue metallic, Tech pack, electric seats, panoramic roof, auto boot, roof racks, mud flaps and rubber mats
I am looking to buy a new rs with tech pack and other assorted accessories. The dealer in Canberra(Lennock) does not have in stock.
Has anyone here bought a new car from a interstate dealer. If yes, was the experience worthwhile?
5-10% off the RRP and about 50% off the pre-delivery cost depending on how good a bargainer you are. If you get 10% off then don't expect any better than wholesale for your trade.
carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

Thanks.
Yeah getting wholesale for the tradein sucks as it sort of neutralizes any discount I get on the RRP.
Cant justify the initial and maintenance cost of diesel when they are both giving around the same mileage. And I like driving a petrol. So tsi it is.
Manual or DSG?
One dealer is Melbourne has a fully optioned Race Blue Wagon with sunroof, autoboot, etc. Would you be interested in that? Maybe too many options. Depends on budget.
Note: To stop threadcrapping, we'll go to PM. Please PM me your contact details and we'll go from there.
PS. I'm not a broker or anything like that, i just get a kick out of haggling and getting people good deals. Plus i really like this car, so the more people in them, the bigger the community! =)

Thanks for doing that Reichter.
Lets see if I can summarize what i want:
Skoda Octavia RS 162TSI | Wagon| Any Color | DSG | Tech Pack | Should qualify for 1.2% finance | Any other options are negotiable
the stupidly narrow car parking spots that Australia seems to love.
Hey brad, you've obviously not driven in Italy then? Italian parking bays make Aussie ones look big enough to park a '60 Coupe de Ville with enough space left over to swing both its doors wide open...
After driving from the German border down to Rome over the space of a week and a half, I came to appreciate the folding mirrors on the rental car (Renault Scenic) and the fact that I'm not a big bloke!
