Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    For a metallic white, manual wagon, Tech pack, 18" Black Pack, got them to $41500 drive away.......they are keen for business!

    Same can be said for Allan Mackay Skoda in Moss Vale NSW.....great team and prices.

    I haven't placed and order yet as I'm waiting to have the 260hp RS model formalised here in AUS.

      I'm looking at buying an Octavia Ambition plus, preferably with the tech pack and manual (although auto would be okay)
      What should I be paying for this?

      Does this model always have the rear view camera or is it only after a certain build date?

        Liftback or wagon? Colour? If its a factory order it will have a camera from now on. Previous ones had cameraf rom week45 onwards lastyear.

        Since your in VIC, i can get you a decent deal since ive negotiated with a few dealers already.

            I paid 31.5k drive away for the one in my sig. Mine has reverse camera and it was built week 38. Wasn't even an option when I ordered.

            Edit. Was 31.5 not 31

              Not sure what the difference is! maybe i'm just a softy.
              I cant even get near that price with only just the tech pack

                It helps to shop around. You have a better chance of getting a higher discount on a floor stock with the intend to buy immediately. Which dealers have you approached so far?

                  Gold Coast, newcastle, Peninsula ...ect. Just the ones with floor stock. Intent is to buy immediately.

                    This one is in QLD with Tech Pack and Manual, try to get in touch with them - 2014 Skoda Octavia Ambition Plus 103TSI MY15. Also have a look at carsales.com.au to see if there are any other.

                      Rob from gcs is very good to deal with. He honoured my contact from Bryan Burt when they went bust. On that car you could offer 31 to 31.5 drive away and should be able to get it. I know my deal was awesome for a lower spec model.

                        I have just received my VIN for my car which has just been built.

                        Is there any online guide as to how to decode the code ?

                        Just to make sure that it's wagon, DSG, etc etc after hearing all the horror stories of the wrong car being built?

                            I got my VIN number 2 weeks ago and it's still not showing up when I do a 2wglobal search. How long did everyone have to wait before the search yielded any results?

                              About 3 weeks. It'll show up once it's booked on a ship
