APR tune released for the GTI, 316hp (236kw) and 380tq (515Nm) in the US. Not too shabby. Wonder if the RS tune will be released at the same time as the local GTI tune.

The tuning thread on briskoda certainly does inspire confidence that the EA888 has been modified with big power in mind - and all these tuning companies releasing tunes with 80+ HP gains certainly seems to reflect that. (that APR one is 96HP gain!). Almost like the early years of turbo cars again (s13 etc).

The power wars between VAG and Merc seem to be netting benefits to us!

My RS wagon order (mistakenly built week 16 without requested Tech pack and sunroof arrived at the dealership yesterday) All good though, the dealer re ordered as soon as they were informed of the mistake and my car will arrive (with all requested options) around Sept/ Oct. If anyone wants to see what a black pack (black) RS wagon looks like, here's some pics I took this afternoon.

1HP = 0.746kw, so 316HP is about 236kw

It's the black pack. So they paint the mirrors and grill black

1hp = 0.745699872kw, so about 3/4 of the hp value. eg The above316hp = 236kw, and the 80+hp gain would be 60+kw.

Should notice the difference!!!

So it won't void warranty? When I go for warranty issues or service at dealer you take it to the APR tuner, disconnect it and then go to dealer?

U cannot "disconnect" it.

If u r really worried, u can revert it to the stock program. Normally u get 3 programs with an apr tune:-
1. Stock
2. Stage 1/2/3
3. blank or valet

I've had mine serviced at the dealership a few times without switching to stock. No issues.
If they (dealership) does a ecu software update, hence overwriting ur tune - u can have the tune reloaded by ur local apr tuner.

Never really liked the 19's with the Wagon tbh, though apparently putting spacers in helps with them looking lost in the wheel arches.
