Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
Any one know what the little lit up button on the pillar next to drivers seat is.Lights up amber but will go red when pressed.
Never ever seen a button there before on any other car.
I dont that will happen woofy - they appear to be going "everything by order" way.....which totally sucks, but most likely why the prices have come down as well......
If you dont want any options, then you can buy a car now in a reasonable range of colours.
I think it's because their product planner (the guy who orders floor stock) sucks at his job and they are trying to avoid having large numbers of cars sitting in the holding yards for years (eg: Roomster) & then having to flog them at a huge discount (30%)
carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

No one could be that useless! (although I do understand the roomster debacle - but the octavia is quite a popular car at a very good price)
My dealer told me they were no longer allowed to order floor stock, each order had to have a customers name attached to it (since june). I asked him why john smith wasnt ordering a lot of cars, and he said they cant be dogey

pay peanuts get monkeys?
I was offered the product planner job at Hyundai in the mid-90s & the pay was pretty lousy. Worse than the job I already had with a tight-wad airline.

I think it has more to do with vwa puppeteering Skoda to not lose sales (as people often cross shop the brands). Skoda would do much better run independently, but we know that's not going to happen.
edit: yes, salary would also help dictate if a quality employee was found. Although I have know some absolute superstars that lived their work and were paid **** because they were to scared to leave.
My RS wagon order (mistakenly built week 16 without requested Tech pack and sunroof arrived at the dealership yesterday) All good though, the dealer re ordered as soon as they were informed of the mistake and my car will arrive (with all requested options) around Sept/ Oct. If anyone wants to see what a black pack (black) RS wagon looks like, here's some pics I took this afternoon.

That's in the first 6 mths though. If they don't eventually get floor stock then they are stuffed, people aren't going to wait forever for stock. I would imagine by the end of this year stock will improve. They always seem to get flooded by dec.
Just took delivery of my Ambition Plus Octavia Wagon, DSG with Tech Pack. Initial impressions: Very impressive and smooth DSG and excellent Bluetooth phone connectivity. Tech Pack is absolutely loaded with goodies. BiXenons are by far the best headlights I've ever had, the beam is smooth, wide and powerful. Seats are wider and way better than the old Octy which used to push into the sides of my legs. Nice double sided heavy duty boot mat. Ride seems to settle down over the first few hundred k's. Engine must be run-in according to the manual. Getting reasonable economy 6.7 k/100l or so on the freeway and 7.0+ in town in normal mode. Spacious and noticeably wider interior. Haven't had a chance to use the ACC or City Emergency Braking system. Overall, very impressed.
