New Octavia ....when? How Much?

I doubt it. The pano roof could be added last week (I.e order wasnt in frozen status). It should be in the next few weeks but damn it's taking ages! Why couldn't they just give us a website we can spam refresh on to see the order status.

We have a reliable honda jazz as our only car (the powerful 1.3L version too!) so it's not like we dont have something reliable to get around in, in the mean time. But its hardly nice to drive (although it does have the best gearbox of any car i've yet driven - the shifter feel is bloody awesome) and its quite noisy, and worst of all GUTLESS. Its so gutless! I sold my tuned v8 WL Statesman, so you can appreciate the downwards step in power i've taken....

I ride a motorbike (dont have a car) so its even worse the disparity between vehicles. I drive it like a truck most of the time (pretty much always left lane, rarely overtake etc etc) because it is so slow. Its so annoying how little boot space it has (cabin space is fine) if the pram is in, there is practically no room for anything else. So we just do trips around town for the moment (buying groceries means we have to take the pram out and put the kids in the trolley!). We would like to visit a sick relo at gympie, but no way am I driving this slow beast on a highway trip that long.....(coincidentally on the most unsafe piece of bruce highway in QLD!).

Worst part is, i'm about to change jobs, so essentially have to apply for finance now (to still get kick arse rates) then delay payment for as long as possible (up to 90 days) so im not paying for the car without actually having it. The new job is much higher paying, but banks dont really care if you havent been in it 6+ months......

So a frustrating time all round for me....

VXII, had to replace my tyres because it'd just burn out the wheels when going up hills in the wet.

Dealer has told me official word from Skoda is worst case October build and that all his orders are like that :S. I'm not sure whats going on but those who have confirmation I'd say ask for your VIN to see if its actually happening...

Blue sky thinking tells me that I'll at least have the steering wheel RS badge and the new revised rear suspension so.. yay?

Time sounds about right.

I ordered RS in November 2012 (last available order for mk2), car built jan 2013, arrived/complianced and ready for rego march 2013.

Got VIN in Jan. And that was insanely quick. Anyone driven a boat from Czech to Australia lately?

For all the reasons above are why I plan to hold onto my car until the new one comes. With the waiting time, any benefit in a tradein has long passed and a private sale would already have happened. Having said that hopefully they get stock in by the end of the year and stop doing everything by order.

I dont that will happen woofy - they appear to be going "everything by order" way.....which totally sucks, but most likely why the prices have come down as well......

If you dont want any options, then you can buy a car now in a reasonable range of colours.
