Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)
Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
So anyone who has ordered, or perhaps anyone who has taken delivery of their octavia - from order, did the dealer update you with build week etc? or did you just wait until they called saying "car's here"? I'm close to a month here, and nothing so far, aside from "it's entered in the system.."
I know it takes roughly 6-8 weeks from build to arrival (sometimes a little more) so knowing the build date I could at least get a closer "rough" idea of when the car will arrive!

I place an order about 6 weeks ago, got in touch with then last week, they still had no updates.
I usually send a quick email every 2 weeks asking for an update, hopefully we get a positive response soon
Do you have a normal octavia, or an rs? And was yours one of the first ordered, or one ordered this year? 6 months seems a very long time for a normal octavia!
EDIT: Yeah terry, I have already emailed the dealer once, but dont want to bug him all the time, so I thought i'd ask here to see if anyone else has a timeline similar to my order
The dealer reckoned 3-4 months from order to delivery for a "normal" octavia, and ~6months for a rs

Manual Ambition wagon. 6 months wait was ridiculous. We were initially told 3 months wait. We won't be buying another Skoda again unless it is in stock.

Hmmmm. Im lucky that it doesn't really matter if the wait is longer, but sooner is better. I agree 6 months is crazy for a normal car.

Ordered at the end of December, told on the day it would be built early Feb, for delivery some time in April.
Built first week in Feb, delivered first week in May. Took ~2 weeks from boat docking to delivery.
Race Blue Ambition Plus DSG Wagon with Tech Pack.
Once the car has been built it has a VIN, it can then be tracked as to what boat it is on. Ask the dealer for the VIN and there is a shipping website which you enter it into as it will be on a shipping manifest. Can't remember the site but I'm sure if you search it will be found.

I had to wait 6 months for my Polo, I think it is just a case of supply and demand. A popular car in its early production will take a while to supply. I guess in 6 months or so it will take less time as there will be a shorter wait between order and build date.

So delivery wasnt too far off what you were told then......1 month. The huge wait is what kills skoda's sales.....most people simply wont wait that long, even if the car is substantially better/cheaper than what they end up buying.
Thanks for all the info guys, fingers crossed the rumours about increased production rate are true! (reports on briskoda saying that anyway)

I would think it's a case of "get used to it" for these niche brands. Even Holden & Ford will be reducing floor stock and increasing wait times once they stop local manufacture.
carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
