    Just what APR have been saying on the forums. Should be released the same time as the GTI tune and its a port flash. Stg 1 will be in the 220kw/480Nm range. As for transferring the power, I'd assume it'll be done with a steady right foot.

    This engine is massively underrated, as I've seen the same stock Mk7 GTI dyno 156kw and 161.7kw on two different dynos.

            The smaller engines don't get too much love because the market isn't really there and usually their ECU's are locked down a lot more.

            Chiptuning doesn't flash the ecu but takes over instead and seems to offer smallish gains. Its hard to tell if theres a loss in smoothness and fuel too.

              Might be awhile before anything is available as its not a popular choice regarding aftermarket tuning. Wouldn't be surprised if 125-130kw is possible when something is available.

                If your going to go that route, why not just buy the 132 to start with ? At least that comes with a factory warranty and without the insurance hassles. Are you chipping to get more power you probably don't need or just so you can say " my cars chipped ".

                  Yeah if you're going from an Elegance 103 to a 132 it's only about $2500 and most tunes are around $1000 mark, you get better suspension too. But it starts to make more sense if you're going for the Ambition or Ambition+ trims and want some more go.

                  The Racechip/dtuk boxes are their own box, and leave no trace when removed. Because they're not fully integrated they don't give much power though.

                  I have no personal knowledge with tuning boxes btw, so I can't say much on what it does to the car. They seem popular in the UK though.

                  • Have read/heard the 103 goes to about 120-125kw and up to ~300nm of torque (so from 140hp -~170hp).

                    The only reason I would do it, would be if I could get a cheaper tune (aka bluefin) to also gain the economy benefit. But on the 1.4, economy is already pretty bloody amazing, and for the engine size, it goes well. If you were into tuning, better to save more and go for the TSI RS from the start..

                    • I was just wondering. I used to have a chipped first gen Mazda 3 MPS, the tune made the car delivered the power / torque a lot smoother and the car ran leaner too.

                      I know the Elegance trim has 132TSI engine, but I do not like the leather in that trim and 18" wheels... I do not mind the RS though...

                      • I wouldn't want to put more than 250 NM through that 7 Speed DSG. VW have limited the torque to 250 for a reason. I don't care what the tuners say, they re not the ones having to deal with Skoda when it goes "pop". We ve had trouble with it in the Yeti and that's only 175 NM. For some reason I don't believe VAG when they say the issues have been fixed with the box.

                        • That's why if you have to order anyway, go for the manual. Much more reliable/proven box! pleasure to use also.

                          • Guys just asked for fees in relation to the 2.8% offer.
                            Theres a $400 establishment fee,and a dealer admin fee of $750.
                            Have a deposit down on a tech packed elegance wagon.
                            Got a quote from a finance guy ive used in the past,and repayements are only a little higher.
                            Half tempted to go with my guy and get a RS.
                            What do u guys think,will they burn my deposit.Can actually get lower repayements through my finance guy
                            with an extra year and bigger balloon.
