Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)
Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
Ive calculated the 2.8% rate is worth about $9000 over the life of the loan though.
So factoring that into it aswell.
You must be getting a crap rate from a bank if it's that much. Over 5 yrs difference between 8% and 2.8% is 4.5k on a 40k loan. 6-7% is doable on a car loan.... So not a huge difference. I do agree that the 2.8% is a pretty good offer though. If only it was available on all models

I actually worked it out at a 7% rate and factored an extra 2k for buying the rs.
U have done ur calcs wrong.
Theres 2k difference in interest paid in just the first year,on ur figures.
That was done directly on a bank sites calculator, taking total interest paid in each loan, just changing the interest rate. The longer you take the loan, the more the interest stacks up. You calculating on 5yrs?
On that, 40K at 2.8%, no fees (so effectively 2.8% comparison) total payments over 5 yrs is $42876 - at 7% (comparison) it's $47434 a difference of $4558
And no doubt thats a big difference
EDIT2: Are you calculating it like a mortgage? (where interest is re-calculated at a set time) Car loans are normally fixed payments - so the interest payable is calculated at the start and you have a fixed amount to pay (unless early termination) - all mine have been that way anyway. That might explain the different figures
Like I stated in another thread, watch out for that 2.8% offer. VW want $750 to set the loan up, the dealer gets a $300 + cut, there are fees to pay out early. I declined and used my own money, although I went in with the inclination of using theirs.

I got my last loan with CUA....8.29% comparison, but the real kicker is 195 setup, no monthly fee and no early payout if after 1 yr..... ($195 i think if in first year).....so you can smash the loan out, and effectively pay a much lower rate. I know there are others down to 6-7% with similar setups, so although it sounds higher, you really have to do the total figures for the loan first to see if it is.

It really pays to shop around for a loan. Peoples Choice Credit Union have an attractive offer at the moment - Personal Loan Interest Rates - People's Choice Credit Union. They have a low setup fee of around $200 and no other ongoing fees. You can finish the loan early if you wish to do so without an early termination fees. No balloon payment options.
Note: I don't represent or endorse People Choice Credit Union, just sharing the information.
I have Commercial Hire Purchase with Bendigo Bank....is about 5% and I put a 13k balloon on it so I sell my prior car after 3-4yrs and it pays the balloon off for me. I think I have to go to a chattel mortgage next time though as the govt brought in GST for this type of loan now. I have a car allowance and use mine for work, 15,000kms a year with about 75% of that business kms.
Any info on the Stage 1 tune? Those are impressive figures for the Stage 2....but again, I seriously question how the hell you're going to transfer 240kW and 490Nm through a FWD.
