No worries, I thought you were chasing a semi slick? even the RS3 is borderline. I'd recommend a sticky tyre if you go stage 3 mate.

thanks al, stage 3 might not be until nearer the end of the year with the plans i have. saything that i hardly do any k's so might aswell get some now instead of buying tyres twice. any experaince with nitto nt05's? i know you get what you pay for but i'm also keeping in mind how much use my car gets...

thanks for the update mate, i spoke to him yesterday and he should have some more in by tuesday. had a call from the wheel refurb place yesterday and the wheels are now ready for the tyres so i'm keen as mustard to get the asym 2's...

wheel refurb is complete and the tyres are on their way, whoop whoop...

i managed to get the antenna sorted recently, started by removing the inner boot lid trim...



a quick shot of the original setup so i could remember how it was in case it all went pete tong...



the original unit in the top of the boot lid...



a quick shot of the wire colour coding...



and the colour coding at the bottom...



hooked up then new cable to test the length and make sure it reaches the unit in the bottom of the boot lid...



once i knew the cable was long enough it was time to make the basic loom...



a quick retest before i wrapped it...



once i knew it worked i wrapped both the new loom and extension cable...



and now all installed, looking pretty oem i reckon...



now it just needs resetting with vagcom and the fault code removing. no doubt i'll be asking another favour of mr walsh, please mate. and if the fault code comes back i'll cry...

coolio, thanks mate. not back until the 20th though so will call you before then...

also need to install a relay switch to the reverse light to select between tv and reverse camera. my media controller is only basic, not basic plus which is why that switch didn't work last time...

and i've ordered a p3 cars gauge too so i will fit that all that jazz before i catch up with you in case i get any more codes. hopefully a reset will clear them all next time...

thanks Al, apreciate your comments. not as quick as yours yet but i'm really keen to get stage 3. i'm just having fun buying and installing all the little bits i want and can fit myself. once that list runs out it will have to be on to the next stage...

hopefully my roster lines up with a meet in the near future so i can chew your ear off about any recommendations you might have. gav reckoned it would be worth a chat to you to see if you had any internal work done. i'd like to avoid that if possible...

Anytime Ritchie. Guy Harding just sold a S3 with the GTX turbo upgrade. Thing was making around 280+KW from memory, so I'd definitely have a chat with him as well.

thanks mate, i know i'm not exactly pushing the boundaries of the tuning scene. i'm just trying to carefully select what i think are the best mods and research / plan them to obtain a nice and neat install...

i'm nearly complete with my current list and once my stock pile of parts have all been installed it will be on to the next phases...

so far i have two little projects i'm researching; water meth install and better lp fuel supply...
