Has anyone had a wastegate rattle on their IS20 and not had an issue?

Thats exactly whats been happening on my car, i can reach to the back of the turbine house and slap the rod and there is a fair bit of play there.

I've had this issue for well over 6 weeks now...

I have a Mk3 Octavia pre FL (2017) that has quite a metallic rattle at about 1800rpm and at light load. Took it to my independent VAG garage who said the wastegate actuator rod was loose and showed me when it was up on the lift....

Assuming the K03 and K03s had the same wastegate actuators on 1.8T 20V transverse engines eg Golf Mk4 gti, Polo 9N3 Gti…………….. I was hoping someone might have an old OEM one of these lying around.

The local dealer has found a wastegate leak, so they have recommended the whole turbo and every associated part be replaced including Diesel Particulate Filter (DPI), total cost $7400 just for parts!!! there is no fault code for the DPI, no symptoms. Starting a thread for the wastegate rattle in 1.4 TSI MY15 motors.

For background, this is not the same as the actuator rod rattle seen in MY13 models. MY15 models had a redesigned actuator rod which did not require a clip to stop the rattle. The mechanic recommended replacing the actuator...

Took my car to Essendon VW dealership to get the wastegate clip installed to fix the buzz/rattle on deceleration
However after this had been installed it reduced the buzzing to a minimal, though VW has told me that the issue was not fixed and my turbo needs replacing which they quoted me $4k....

Having some boost fluctuations and found the stock wastegate is knackered...

you fix one thing and find another problem (or perhaps I was the problem all along....)

New spark plugs, back to having n75 in total control of boost, and in high load (4th,5th gear) full boost of 10psi is achieved and held for a short period before boost increases...
