    2019 V6 Amarok A/c not working

2019 sportline amarok - so has climate control
A/c was working fine one day, not the next. Fan etc etc appear to work correctly.
Took it to local auto elec - checked refrigerant was correct amount, and pressure, and said everything they could measure was correct - but for some reason the...

    VR6 aircon system needed

Hey lads, got a contact that has just purchased a VR6 mk3 that has had the air-conditioning removed. So need to re-instate it for comfort reasons. It's all gone, condensor, compressor, pipes the lot.
Any leads on a full or even parts of a system would be gratefully received. Thanks, Gavin

  • T5.1 Air conditioner woe

    G'day folks,
The A/C on my 2012 T5.1 failed (suddenly). VW diagnosis is that the clutch (or compressor) is the issue. The clutch is NOT spinning with the engine running. It LOOKS like it is probably the clutch at fault. The compressor is the same as in the Amarok and I'm led to believe it HAS...

    Advice re battery powered compressor

    Hi all,

    I have a 2017 MkVII TSI.

Do I run any risks of damaging the battery or electronics by connecting a 12v compressor via jumper-lead type terminal clamps to inflate a tyre? Am I better off using the body earth connection point for the negative lead?

  • 2016 Polo GTI Air Condition stops working after 10 minutes

    Hi Folks,

After googling around I couldn't find a solution and any insight.

Last month I took my Polo 2016 GTI to the mechanic to have my AC regassed. They said that I had a leak at the evaporator, and only 10% of refrigerant was in the system. I took it to another...

    VR6 Bora air con clutch

Anyone have a aircon compressor clutch from a Bora or golf mk4? My compressor has seized and only found out when I had it recharged so I'd like to swap out the clutch to see if that is the problem or the compressor is what has seized. I should be able to swap out the clutch without needing to evacuate...

  • Plastic AC vent dropped into ducting

I drive a VW Tiguan 2014, and made the common mistake of popping my air-con vent fins off the plastic bar that holds them together. I followed instructions on removing the dashboard trim, but unfortunately the plastic bar has already fallen into the air-con ducting (photos attached, red circled). 2...

  • Mk5 Golf TDI - persistent aircon troubles

    Hey guys,

I'm hoping to get some opinions regarding persistent aircon troubles I'm running into. Long story short, I own a 2007 Golf TDI and recently had the AC fixed by Arthur at exoticars where he replaced the compressor, did the pressure test, regassed and replaced cabin filter....

  • 2011 Caddy Air conditioning not cold enough

    Hey,

Ive had my caddy now for about 4 years and have found the air conditioning to never be crisp cold. In the past ive checked and replaced the cabin filter which helped a bit, checked and cleaned the condenser coil etc. Ive had enough and want it working like the rest of the cars around...

  • Fitting a compressor into a T5.1

Quite some time ago I did a mod on my T5.1 camper and just realised others may be interested.

We do quite a bit of outback travel so I needed to have a compressor. I simply didn't want another item floating in the rear of my vehicle or in other cupboards that are always full of gear. I...

  • AA IGNITION AC Compressor Solenoid, control valve

bought the wrong solenoid so selling it now as i dont need it. Replacing my solenoid fixed my AC issues so deffs worth it trying to try fix it if you're having issues.

Lot cheaper than buying a whole compressor.

    it is brand new, unused

    AC Compressor Exploded

    Hi,

Recently I was driving back from Sydney when the AC stopped blowing cold, knowing something was wrong I switched it off, and 100km later heard a bang - the aftermath of which can be seen below. I've managed to get a shorter belt which bypasses the compressor as a temporary measure which...

  • Keep or replace high KM Tiguan?

We have a 2010 7SPD DSG Tig we bought new in 2010 with the 110TDI motor.

The vehicle has 209,000 km on it and has had regular servicing by a local VW mechanic (Volksworx).

The only thing to go wrong, was the a/c compressor. VW wanted to replace the compressor, local a/c...
