Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Mk5 Golf TDI - persistent aircon troubles

    Hey guys,

I'm hoping to get some opinions regarding persistent aircon troubles I'm running into. Long story short, I own a 2007 Golf TDI and recently had the AC fixed by Arthur at exoticars where he replaced the compressor, did the pressure test, regassed and replaced cabin filter.

In the past day or two, AC has resumed blowing cool air only as compared to icy cold which was the case about 5-7 days ago. Ambient temperature has been around 28-30 in Sydney and I can definitely notice the AC was blowing a slightly cooler air.

Now, I don't doubt Arthur's work and will take the car back soon however I was wondering what else would the issue worth researching on?
From previous threads, it seemed like replacing the compressor fixed the issue and vent sensors were showing 4-6c temperature. Is there any way I could check it prior to taking to Arthur as I don't want to waste his time either.

Other points to consider, I have three manual AC knobs as compared to digital knobs and temperature is always set on 16c (LO) setting.

Any kind of feedback would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
Working...
